Back in the days, I would have purchased something like this without a second thought. Now, I tend to steer away from all over logo pieces. Besides, at some point, I just have to say no to $500 sneakers. Are you the logo or non-logo type?

Savvy or Not so Much: Marc Jacob Jelly Mouse Flats?
Normally I adore anything and everything Marc Jacob. However, I wrinkle my nose at this pair of jelly mouse flats. I can see it as lark for a child but on me, maybe not so much. Besides, I can't see myself paying $200 for this pair of shoes, Marc Jacob or not. What do you think, savvy or not so much?

Shoe Coset & Organization
When it comes to the matter of shoes and handbag care (see Shoe Care 101 here), I am always on the lookout for savvy tips and methods. I usually store my shoes in shoe bags but will forget about certain pairs because they are not in plain sight. Of course I don't have enough room to showcase them in plain sight like a shoe store. Anyhoo, I was most impressed when I saw gal pal's shoe storage system. Everything is in plain sight and the system is readily available via Ikea at a very reasonable price. Now I have a bee in my bonnet about reorganizing my shoes so each pair will be in plain sight. How do you organize your shoes so you won't forget about them?
Burberry Jelly Sandals
After resisting jelly sandals all this time, I finally gave in and purchased my first all jelly sandals. Honestly, it is not my fault at all. While shopping with a gal pal from oversea, my feet got so tired I was ready to buy anything to get away from the pair I was wearing. First thing I saw was this pair of gold color Burberry jelly sandals. Thank goodness this pair was on sale. However after wearing these for a few hours, I must say this jelly thing may not be as bad as I previously thought. Savvy Sis purchased a pair of Chanel flower jelly sandals and loved it. Gal pal said Salvatore Ferragamo makes really nice jelly sandals as well. I don't think I will ever be in total adoration with jelly sandals but I guess these are not too bad overall. Have you jelly yet?
Fur Boot Trend?
Apparently fur boots are still very much in the fashion picture this coming fall/winter. After clogs from spring/summer collection, Chanel is joining the fur boot bandwagon. It was almost 2 years ago, from Sept 2008, I first encountered fur boots at Fendi. I was attracted and puzzled by the odd style at the same time. Since then, I have been seeing some sort of fur boots styles from various fashion houses and brands.

To be honest, as much as I love to hate this pair of Fendi fur boots, I find myself slightly in adoration with them. I probably won't be able to wear these in sunny So Cal, but after trying them on, I must say they are cute in a odd sort of fashion. I like to say I look casual cool wearing these boots with skinny jeans and fitted sweater. I don't think I will sport fur boots this winter, but they are cute in theory. Will fur boots be in your future?

Vibram Five Finger Shoes
When I first learned of Vibram Five Finger Shoes, I didn't know what to make of it. However, BF was rather intrigued with the idea of going almost barefoot while running and walking about town. I have learned it is the new rage now. With this in mind, BF showed off his new Vibram Five Finger shoes to me the other day. According to Savvy Guy, these shoes are rather comfortable, although it is harder to just slip the shoes on and off since the design is like a glove. The pair above is good for easy walking about town or at home.
This pair with thicker rubber bottom on the other hand is good for running and exercising. The design and color are rather unique. Honestly, I am still on the fence at this new shoe rage. To me it is still slightly strange wearing FOOT GLOVES walking or running about town. However, as I do like to walk barefoot in the house, I am not against trying this while running about town in the future. I wonder if it is stylish to attend Chanel Trunk Show in them? What do you think of Vibram Five Finger Shoes?

Coach Flower Jelly Sandals
Over the weekend, I joined the dreaded jelly sandals bandwagon by accident. Since jelly shoes started its trend seasons ago, I put my savvy foot down and turned the other way because I feared sweaty feet. Alas, Coach got me with these darling summer flower motif jelly flip flops. Thank goodness only top part is made of jelly like material; bottom is still made of regular heavy foam material, like normal flip flops.
Although I am not a huge Coach fan, I do like pieces here and there, as the brand is very stylish and savvy. It was the black and white drawing with red accent on the flower that had me say to myself, "I want that!" This gal is so ready for summer and beach. Fuchsia is also available but I think mine is cuter. Although $48 is not super cheap, I do see this purchase as sensible luxury. I got this pair at Bloomingdales but I am sure Coach boutiques have them too.

Tod's Infradito Flat Fondo Gomma Forature Sandals
Living in sunny southern California, I find myself wearing sandals almost year round. As many of you may know by now, Savvy Sis and I are somewhat of a Tod's fan. SO, when Savvy Sis got this pair of new leather Tod's blue sandals, with hint of purple and gray, I found myself itching to buy a pair too. So far she really adores this pair for its comfort and easy style. Because the color is so denim like, this pair of sandals can almost act like basic denim, pairing well with so many colors and outfits. Chocolate brown and beige are also available at Neiman Marcus for $425. Have you purchased a pair of summer sandals yet?
Tod's Heaven Frangia Moccasins
All the gals in the family are on the Tod's bandwagon this season. After debating endlessly about Savvy Mom's gift for Mother's Day, we decided a pair of Tod's shoes and La Mer skincare set will just have to do. This year, practicality is the key.
Usually I would buy classic moccasins for Savvy Mom but I wanted to do something slightly more fun this year without sacrificing comfort. In the end, Savvy Sis and I decided on a pair of pearlized metallic gold with a hint of gray moccasins. This light color will pair well with lots of colors this coming summer. There are some details on the shoes which makes the style more interesting than plain classic. I must say this pair is totally comfortable and the leather is very gentle on the feet. Usually this particular style has "old lady shoes" written allover but for the metallic treatment makes the look slightly more fashion forward. I tried the pair with a tee and short denim; the overall look wasn't half bad at all. Beige is also available at Neiman Marcus for $425.

Lizard Embossed Tod's Ballet Flats
After much debate, I gave up the idea of python ballet flats. I just don't like the idea of flaky scales after some wear. In the end, this gal added a pair of lilac lizard embossed flats to the shoe closet. It is in one of newest colors for spring and has the look of exotic leather without the exotic price.ring.The patent leather detail also added some contrasting detail which I thought adorable. Also I like the idea of rounded toe, which is more comfortable to wear. According to a gal pal who also owns a pair of these same exact flats, she can dance on air in these babies. A few friends have asked me about this ruched detail and question the comfort of the style. For me, I don't have any problem walking in these and the style is comfortable. I saw the same style online but without the lizard embossed detail for $425 so will assume this pair should be the same price or just slightly higher. Which color do you think will be cute for spring?
Chanel Ballet Flats
I usually find my perfect dream shoes when least expected. Isn't that half the fun?! While waiting for gal pal last week, I saw these at the Chanel window on display. This pair of ballet flats with ribbons really brought out the inner ballerina in me. This savvy gal may not be a ballerina but looking the part will suffice. The best thing is once this ballet look is out, a gal simply removes the ribbon and we just have a simple pair of Chanel ballet flats again. This particular style without the ribbon has been around for a while so I think it is a savvy buy.

Another pair of Mary Jane was displayed right next to the ribbon ballet flats. This pair is a simple classic style which will last forever. For these simple styles, I don't mind paying full retail price which I am guessing in the high $500 to low $600 as a pair of classic ballet flats starts at around $575. I am not saying these are cheap in anyway but I have Chanel classic flats from way back which I still adore. I think it is savvier than buying something on sale which I will only use one to two seasons. Which pair do you like?

Exotic Python
After going on and on for months about python shoes and bags, I finally had a chance to get my hands on a pair of Tod's python ballet flats in Taiwan, as it is not illegal to sell python here as in California. Gal pal helped me wrestle this pair from another client. In the midst of my joy, I saw gal pal's python Chloe Paraty and python shoes. I shouldn't be surprise but suddenly I am not so sure about python bags and shoes. Due to the nature of the skin, individual python scale will become flaky and ruffled on the edgy after some use. Faux python skin will not flake or become ruffled. Well, at least there is a way to distinguish between the real thing and faux skin. I am sometimes clumsy with accessories so I am not so sure python is such a good idea for me. A pair of Tod's python shoes start at around $900 so I won't be too happy with flaking scale, even if it is natural. What is a gal to do?!
Chanel Sandal: Savvy or Sloppy?
Many of you know by now that SG is sort of a Chanel fan, at least Chanel classic pieces anyway. I saw this pair of Chanel sandals the other day and was quite speechless, not in a good way. I was admiring all the beautiful ballet flats when I cam across this...... There is a plastic coating over the fabric and the ring part is some sort of plastic, I think. I remembered the retail price was over $600 or around there. Even with Chanel label, I don't think the style is savvy. I don't mind paying $575 for a pair of classic Chanel flats but not this. What do you think?

Happy Monday everyone!!! I am so thankful I live in sunny California, please don't hate me I get to jog on sandy beach on a warm afternoon. Anyhoo, the folks at Snubbr , a site that recommends gift ideas and products to shoppers, is kind enough to sponsor a giveaway at Savvy Mode.. You can ask a question on the site and savvy guys and gals from the community will try to recommend what is good. I had fun reading questions and answers.
Going back to our giveaway, Snubbr will give one lucky winner a $25 gift card to Neiman Marcus, or Needless Markup as dubbed by many suffering guy pal hubs. Regardless, there are still little luxuries a gal can scoop up at my favorite hunting ground. If I am the winner, I would totally buy.....
1. Chanel nail polish in red $23
2. Chanel lipstick $30 --- Savvy Mom only uses Chanel lipsticks.....
3. Antioxidant Grape Seep soap (set of 2) $32
4. Jo Malone soap in Honey & Nectarine Blossom $50 --- It's over $25 but I will consider it 50% off. What a deal then....
5. Diamond photo frame to put a picture of Savvy Niece $25
6. Bag hanger set with Swarovski crystal $28 --- I have one similar and it is so useful when dining out with a big tote.
Of course, I might also consider grabbing a quick lunch at Mariposa, located inside Needless Markup and admire this pair of lovely Valentino Sculpture Lace heels afterward. Obviously, the savvy gal in me would not dream of spending $4700 on a pair of shoes.
However, I would definitely dream about this pair of Rosette Valentino Wedge for $495, also at Neiman Marcus. I think I am in the mood for shoes.

Cage Your Feet....
After the modern YSL caged booties from last years, there is no shortage of caged style shoes for savvy gals to choose this season. I have looked at quite a few pairs but so far am not tempted to take any home yet. For some reason, I can't seen to find comfort and style in the same pair of heels. Darn!!! I really like this particular trend for the modern edgy look.
1. Jimmy Choo Cage Peep-toe heels $995 via Nordstrom.com
2. Boutique9 "Driven" $190 via Bloomingdales --- Super unique, very similar to Jimmy Choo from above.
3. Dolce Vita "Victoria" $179.95 via Nordstrom
4. Joan & David "Fernanda" $260 via Bloomingdales --- I have my eyes on these lovelies! If these are comfy, then this pair will be mine. The price is not cheap but not outrageous.
5. Nine West "Imelia" sandals $129.95 via Nordstrom --- I like the style but wonder about comfort level.
6. Miu Miu Suede $775 (6 to 8 via Neiman Marcus) --- Miu Miu shoes are quite stylish this season. I am not a big Miu Miu fan but watch me drool this season.
7. Miu Miu Caged Peep-toe $590
8. Miu Miu Caged Wedge $710
9. Pelle Mode "Intrigue" $189.95 via Nordstrom
10. Vera Wang "Sally" $375 via Bloomingdales
What about you, will you cage your feet this season?

Miu Miu Jeweled Bow Flats
Normally I not not a bling-bling sort of gal but I am unusually attracted to these Miu Miu jeweled flats. These lovelies will look great casual or dressy. A pair of gold jeweled flats will be perfect all purpose accent shoes for many stylish outfits. The cost is high at around $595/ or $575 (I forget), but I think a gal can get much use. What do you think?
Sparkle Chanel Rainboots
Recently a stylish gal pal got herself this pair of Chanel rain boots. I am on the fence with this pair of boots. I can't help but like the flowers attached on the side and the fun sparkle element. However living in sunny Socal, I don't know when a gal will have the occasion to wear this pair of rain boots. It is pretty hard to sing in the rain and have fun splashing around when there is no rain in sight. This Camellia flower element also showed up earlier last year as accent for sparkle jelly thong sandals. I think some of these sandals are still available at Chanel boutique. Now I am sure I will just blame all my purchase on my friends. If they don't show me all their goodies then I am sure I will be pretty good too. Right?! ~ smile. Just kidding, I love my savvy friends!!!
I found a pair of Loeffler Randall cage heels and fell in adoration but after trying these babies on, I decided against the purchase. My toes smashed up against the edge. With this experience, I am pretty sure my toes will feel the same way in the Louboutin cage booties from yesterday's post. Wait, I think my wallet just gave 3 cheers! Have a great Friday! ~ xoxo SG
Let's Go Window Shopping!!!
A lot of people have the misconception SG is a shallow shopaholic because I love fashion and style. Well, that is quite hurtful and untrue as they don't know me at all. Personally, I don't think there is anything wrong with fashion in moderation. I don't mind spending money on things I like but I am also savvy about my purchases. Again, I can't say investments as none of my purchases pay out dividend. Well, I say hell to these people since I pay for my purchases and I can't please everyone.
I saw this Valentino ruffle tote the other day at Saks. It is adorable and just my cup of tea. The leather is not super supple and soft so the ruffle will have some structure instead. It is $1995 which is pricey but Savvy Sis thinks this bag shouts my name.....
I continue to obsess slightly with wedges as they are more comfortable to wear than some of these sexy stiletto heels. Although I adore this pair of Valentino bow wedge, I am fearful they will become dirty quite easily. Of course, you can those these babies for $495.
A gal just can't go wrong with a Burberry trench ($795), especially with ruffle hem. ~Sigh....

This pair of Christian Louboutin cage booties reminds me of YSL cage short boots from last year. I tried the pair by YSL but found the pair lacking in comfort. I can just see my toes wedge against the mesh. What do you think of this pair at $1595? I find it unique yet I have a nasty feeling this baby will torture my feet..... Tell me I am wrong!!!

Poppy by Coach
Apparently Coach is trying to be sensitive to the new economy. They have realized the importance of producing collections that are somewhat wallet friendly. Recently, Coach introduced Poppy, which is a lot more affordable and targets younger audience, age range 18 to 25. After watching an interview of Coach CEO, I think there maybe retail locations for Poppy in the future.
Most of the bags are reasonable and really fun, at lease in my opinion. I see retail falling between $200 to $400 range.
-Groovy Graffiti Hobo 198 (top left)
-Heart logo tote $268 --- SG likes! (top right)
-Poppy Graffiti Glam tote $198 (bottom left)
-Sequin tote in pink $398 --- Consider buying in silver sequin. (bottom right)
-Poppy tee $58
-Heart ring $128
-Poppy pink sequin flats $138
-Barrette sneakers $88 --- I wonder if these are available for kids. I love to buy a pair of Savvy Niece.
This is definitely a young and trendier version of traditional Coach products. I can't say I like every piece but I will not mind picking up a pieces here and there for fun, even if Poppy is out of my age range. ~ smile. What do you think?
