Savvy Entertaining: Godiva Chocolate Covered Strawberries

So far I have not found anyone who does not like chocolate covered strawberries. Well, perhaps a person who is allergic to chocolate or strawberries will find this not so savvy. Anyhoo, over the weekend, instead of buying chocolate covered strawberries from Godiva, I decided to make some myself as hostess gift. In the end I was amazed how easy it was to make this decadent sweet.

First, start with Godiva chocolate bar. I used 2 each of solid dark chocolate and milk chocolate, total of 4 bars. This will yield about 14 large chocolate covered strawberries. Using 5 bars would make coating process easier but I didn't want to waste Godiva chocolate.
Buy fresh large strawberries. Wash and dry. Make sure there isn't moisture on any of the fruit.
Break chocolate bars into little pieces and melt in a ceramic bowl in a pot fill with simmering but not boiling water.
Hold strawberry on the green leafy part and dip in chocolate. Place strawberries on wax paper for chocolate to cool and set. It was so hot, I placed the entire tray in the fridge to speed up cooling and setting process. It will take about 30-40 minutes.  I waited for chocolate to set and cool outside before placing them in the fridge. What about you, do you like this decadent dessert and have you made it before?
