There is a saying at Judith Leiber about a woman needing only a tube of lipstick and a $100 bill for an evening out. Well, Ms. Leiber didn't factor in driving and cell phone for modern gals when she came up with that clever little phrase.
It was a struggle for me to use this bag because I couldn't even fit a small wallet in the clutch if I wanted to bring a cell phone, car key and house key. That is not too much to ask for, right?! In the end, I had to toss the wallet and literally bring only a few bills, one credit card along with an ID in order to bring 2 keys and a cell phone. Well downsizing has its benefits, at least my shoulders won't hurt from carrying everything but the kitchen sink. Do you downsize for an evening out?
Ouch, that would be impossible for me! That clutch is a beauty, but I kinda doubt if even a lipstick would fit? Sometimes I wonder what in the world these fashion icons were thinking when coming up with quotes like these haha

I'm all about the itty bitty clutches - but only if my phone fits. If not, then I happily upgrade the size of the purse. What can I say? I'm not a light packer!

ReplyDeleteHow shiny glam this lil' beauty... but yep, on the practical note, which also is uber important, as we savvy gals recall, downsizing does come into my play too. I'd rather not be bothered by extra stuff, dance along the floor freely, than have to carry things around, keeping me occupied on their whereabouts. Classy and chic, but never stupid;)
ReplyDeleteAs a married gal, I have the benefit of asking my hubby to carry my id/cash/cards in his wallet on our evenings out. Then I only need a small clutch to hold my lipstick and powder. However, when it is a girl's night out, I struggle to find a cute clutch that will hold the things that I need to bring.
ReplyDeleteI try to, but now I carry my camera, so usually I need a larger sized bag for the evenings :o/
ReplyDeleteIf it involves Judith Leiber?!? Absolutely!

I don't think there's any way I could downsize THAT much!
ReplyDeleteHi there-what a stunning clutch, tiny but beautiful!!
ReplyDeleteI've had to. I usually throw in my license, credit card, phone, lipstick, and blush.
ReplyDeleteTotally LOVE!

I downsize using a flat compact of lipstick, a few bills, ID, and key fob. I generally carry my cell in hand because I'll never feel the vibration in my handbag.
ReplyDeleteI definitely downsize for an evening out. There's really no need for a wallet! If I pack carefully, I can fit all of these things in my Chanel WOC or a Coach wristlet:
ReplyDelete-credit/debit cards and ID
-cash
-keys (on a simple keyring)
-blotting papers (just a couple taken out of the case/box)
-cell phone
-lipstick
-small compact mirror
I find it so hard to downsize for nights out too. Especially when I like to keep my camera on me too for just in case moments!
ReplyDeleteI can only downsize if my husband is coming with me because then I put the things that didn't fit in the clutch into his pockets ;)
ReplyDeleteI do downsize with clutches but some of her miniaudieres really are impractical for the modern woman! I need my phone and camera!
ReplyDeleteOh, I never carry a wallet in a clutch. No way it fits! Taking the bills and cards out is the way to go.
ReplyDeleteIt was hard for me to leave the house without all my necessities but I guess downsizing ain't so bad.
ReplyDeleteIt's a gorgeous bag, but looks like it's hard to fit in essentials.
ReplyDeleteI can't downsize on nihts out. I need everything from my wallet and keys to make up and my phone.
wow that beautiful clutch is worth downsizing! love it! xo
