For the longest time, I drooled over a Loewe Nappa Aire in any color. However I had to walk away initially, just in case a gal grew out of it after a few weeks. Anyhoo, a few seasons later, and while on vacation, I just had to take this baby home with me because it particular style screamed Savvy Gal.
This particular bag has this casual but girlie air which is totally my cup of tea. The bag is made from a circular piece of buttery soft leather, gathered up to create a tote with large pleats. Since my initial encountered with the tote, some changes took place: new gold or silver removable Loewe logo bag chain, scalloped along top edge and zipped inside with 2 compartments.
The nice SA informed me a few clients had a slight issue with this unstructured tote. Due to the silhouette, this tote has a tendency to just fall open. The solution offered at the boutique was to stitch up each pleat at the end to make the bag more structured. I liked the unstructured look but it was a savvy tip. As much as I adored the bag, I cringed slightly when I saw the price of almost $2200 for the large size tote. I comfort myself that I will use it for years and will not buy another bags for years..... Well, that is my story and I am sticking to it.
