DIY- Swarovski crystal Haviana Flip Flops

When it comes to fashion, I am willing to trying almost anything. I have been drooling over some bling bling flip flops for the longest time so what is more savvy than make a pair for myself? It was fun but also very time consuming. It took me over 2 hours to glue 720 Swarovski crystals onto the straps, since it was my first time making these. In the process, I also learned it was unwise to get glue on one's fingers, even by accident. I thought at one point, I needed to go to ER to unglue my fingers. Ouch! Also, I could have used bigger crystals to cut down on time and it would be easier on the eyes but I liked the tiny pave look more. It is just more delicate looking and more luxurious. I will be making other colors in the future and using slightly larger stones to see for myself the difference in look and time. Have you tried this before? This is a great training for patience!

*Can anyone tell I am on this purple trend?! ~Smile

  1. I like it that you went for the smaller crystals in the end - they do look more delicate and luxurious! You've done a great job, btw, if I didn't know I wouldn't think those were DIY!

  9. That must have taken so long to do! It looks great, and definitely makes those the priciest Haviana's I've ever seen haha

  10. I used jewelry glue which took too much time. Next time I will use E6000 instead.
