Male vs Femal Coffee Bean & New Stila Lip Gloss

While Savvy Sis was on vacation in Bali she purchased peaberry coffee which she thought was more robust and more flavorful than normal coffee. When she came home, she told me about coffee is divided into male vs. female. Uh, really?

I didn't know that!

According to local vendors in Bali, smaller coffee beans are female while larger peaberry coffees are male. Well, that explanation sounds sorta reasonable! In the animal kingdom, male animal is typical larger than female so that would make sense. Anyhoo, I found out via Wiki, it is not true at all. As for the flavor, I am guessing shape of the coffee bean  may affect flavor as these beans may roast differently from normal coffee beans. So have you ever tried peaberry coffee before?

*Peaberry, also known as caracoli, is a type of coffee bean. Normally the fruit of the coffee plant develops as two halves of a bean within a single cherry, but sometimes only one of the two seeds gets fertilized so there is nothing to flatten it. This oval (or pea-shaped) bean is known as Peaberry. Typically around 5% of all coffee beans harvested are of this form. (info via Wiki)

Since I couldn't enter the giveaway, I ordered myself this set of Stila lip gloss. It is a lot cuter than the image online. I love the little decorative detail on top on the cap. I tried to order multiple sets as gifts but only one was available. Anyhoo, even if this set is no longer available, there are other sets of lip gloss which is equally as savvy. I am thinking of ordering a few as future gifts.  Don't forget $25 gift card giveaway on top right side bar.

  7. Style-haus: It is not really male coffee bean. This is a bean that is fertilized only one side. : )
