Sucre Chocolate Covered Macarons

Life is good when I have friends who would go out of their way to do special things for me because they care. Out of the blue, gal pal surprised me with a box of chocolate covered macrons from Sucre located in New Orleans because she heard me raving about macrons. I had my shares of macrons but never ones covered in dark chocolate topped with luxurious gold leaf.
I must say it is one of the richest macrons I have tasted, like ever. Each little pastry is only about one inch in diameter but that is more than enough. Besides being covered in chocolate, there is an layer of rich chocolate ganache to complete this death by chocolate morsel.  To ensure this gal does not overdose on sugar, I make sure to have one little piece with black coffee or tea. This is a luxurious dessert to share with good friends and family.

  10. That looks soo decadent!

P.S An organic cream sounds like a really great product. =D I had to stop using La Mer due to the breakouts I was having. Now that my skin is better and I still have a jar of it, I will likely use it again come Fall/Winter!
