For some reason unknown to me, I am seriously obsessing about a white watch. I think because summer is upon us and white will be so stylish against sun kissed skin. Ever since I attended a Patek Philippe party years ago, the white Gondolo Gemma set in diamond became the unattainable watch of my dream. The price is enough to make a gal faint. Last time I checked, the retail price was over $25,000 for the one I wanted. Ouch, right?! The one above is about $22,000 for quartz movement via

Anyway, all is not lost. I came across a Michele watch that is very similar in style to Gondolo Gemma, not only in white leather strap but set in diamonds as well. Both watches possess the curvy rectangle shape which I find quite unique. Although at $920, this Michele watch is not exactly bargain but it is more sensibly priced comparing to the Gondolo Gemma. Which do you prefer if price is not a factor?
I like both of these watches and my opinion on them is very similar. I would say I probably like them equally and white watches in general are very stylish.
ReplyDeleteHmm I think 1 is more classically stunning, but 2 looks a bit easier to tell the time on!
ReplyDeleteI have to say I am more a fan of a rounded watch shape, the men's style, but I definately agree with you on white strap watch being one of the summer essentials, so hopefully I'll get me a pair sometime soon too. If rpice is not a factor for the above I prefer the Patek Philippe version and I'll tell you why - I like how the watch face is so subtle, the big numbers in the second version distract me somehow. But if the shape is really your thing I would say go for the Michele watch! The price difference is striking and if you're not going to get the PF version in the nearest years, the Michelle would most prob. do it for you for now ;-)
ReplyDeleteI love both of them! :)

I prefer the Patek Philippe version! But if I had a white watch of choice, it would be the Chanel J12 White Ceramic watch! *sigh*
ReplyDeleteThere's no doubt the first is absolute perfection! But the Michele version is a great alternative. And I agree with Maddy, the Chanel is my absolute fave of all time! xxSAS
ReplyDeleteif price was not a factor (which at that price it IS obviously a factor), i'd go for #1. personally, i find it more beautiful. something about the funky, black numbers take away from the beauty of #2 (although i think they'd look great on a different style watch). i love the idea of a white watch for summer, and paired with diamonds is like the yummy sprinkles on some delicious ice cream! ;)
ReplyDeleteI hope this finds you doing well. It's been quite some time since I've been on blogger. Great post. Take care. Have a wonderful week.
ReplyDeleteI love anything white for the summer!! :D
ReplyDeleteIt amuses me that the words "crisp" and "white" seem to always go together.
ReplyDeleteI need an even more look for less! Haha. Beautiful watches though... I have a white Technomarine- love it for spring/summer!
ReplyDeleteA few of my friends have the white Chanel J12 and they said it is a great accessory for a gal's wardrobe. : )
ReplyDeleteThe Patek :) Buy it in Hong Kong, it will be cheaper there!
ReplyDeleteI love those watches... if only they don't cost that much but they are real investment pieces. xoxo
ReplyDeleteI've never worn a watch and with mobiles don't feel I need one. But if someone shoved a Patek Philippe towards me, I surely wouldn't say No. Great alternative find though!
ReplyDeleteThe Patek Philippe is more delicate, which means it's more elegant and feminine, so that would have been my choice. Now, if I only had some 20 grand I could spare.
ReplyDeleteI am also looking for a white watch, but without the diamonts! The Patek Philippe watch is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteLA Daze: I agree with you about PP being cheaper in Asia. $25K is after discount. : ) However, I have talked to several high end watch boutique here and they are pretty willing to work with me.
ReplyDeleteThanks for checking up on me :) I did get the gift card and used it to buy a great Clinique eyeshadow palette for summer. Thanks again!

The second watch is GORGEOUS. White is so fresh for the warmer months. These watches are a definite DO in my book!

i think i like the first one a little better, hard to tell cuz they're diff types of styles! both great and i wish i could own them both w/o the hefty tag!
ReplyDeleteI prefer the second one. I love the numbers on it!
ReplyDeleteI would only by a Patek in the most classic of styles, not this trendy white one.
ReplyDeleteI'd go for the Patek although for utility purposes, numbers are always useful on the watch.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful !
ReplyDeleteBoth are lovely, I tend to stray from acutal numbers on my watch, which can get a bit ridiculous, as i can never tell the time - hehe :)
