Will You Buy This Hermes Scarf Dress???

The other day at Hermes I saw something that had me saying "oh cool" and "what the heck" simultaneously. It was a dress made of 2 large 36 inch square scarf. I am not joking. I took a picture of a small scarf to illustrate.

1. The so called dress is held together at the top with 2 little satin band about one inch long and about 1/2 inch wide. (see pink line)

2. Then, the bottom is sewn together about 1/3 way down so a gal will not show her goods by accident.

Seriously this is it. The mannequin wore the dress with another scarf as a belt. I have not a chance to try this yet but I will soon and take pictures to share. I imagine it will be like wearing a tent of sort. The dress in the boutique looked drafty. SA informed us it could be a dress or a top. I would definitely wear a camisole under the dress so I would "show off" my boobs accidentally. A 36" Hermes scarf is about $400 so I guess the dress should $1000 plus. Would you buy a dress like this, Hermes or not?

One big regret of mine is not buying a vintage Hermes dress for a steal, at the time it wasn't my style, but it was something I would have worn a year later. Oh well, at least I kept the pictures of me trying it on.

Hahaha! Even if I have the means to buy it, I won't. I can't flaunt any of my non-existent assets.:-)

Hmm not sure I could get away with something like that. It would definitely be VERY interesting to see how something like this looks on someone, though, so I'm looking forward to seeing the pictures of this "dress" in action, haha.
It's a nice scarf, though.

I love Hermes but not sure about a scarf dress.

Huh, If I have enough money I will never spend any single penny
just to buy an expensive scarf. I am going to invest them either bags or shoes.

No thanks. I like clothing that is flattering or well structured - this is a big piece of flat cloth. This is just Hermes being lazy! I am hoping to get my mom a Hermes scarf though!

That sounds interesting!

if i had 1000+ to spare, why not? hermes is classic and i'm sure there's prob like 50 other ways to wear the 'dress'.

Why buy when even a kid can easily DIY it with any cheaper pretty scarf? :) I'm looking forward to seeing you sporting it, then I'll see what scarf I can transform into it if I like the way it looks :) lol

If I'm going to buy a dress for THAT much, I want to just be able to throw it on, not freaking construct it. LOL! So I probably will never buy something like that. ;)

Pretty sure that has DIY written all over it. I would rather just have a regular Hermes scarf!

I would love to see photos of you in the scarf dress. I think you can totally pull it off! I'd rather just have a scarf though.

No way! First of all, it has no shape whatsoever. Second, it must be very thin. More than $1000 for that? No thanks.

I will however, consider buying a custom made Hermes saddle once I get into horses again.

I love Hermes scarves, but more as statement accessories. I don't think I'd want to clothe myself in a huge scarf. I think they look much better woven around my handbag strap or in my hair =)

And yummo for red velvet cupcakes! They are my absolute favorite!

Oh my, I know that it's Hermes, and would be forever classic, but not a chance. I want security for all goods and enough money to buy more fun fabulousness.

hmm I do not find the idea of wearing scarves as a dress very appealing so I don't think I'd buy it no matter who made it! It's an interesting idea however.

$1000 for a scarf masquerading as a dress?!!? NO. WAY.

Sounds too complicated for me!

No way, I wouldn't buy it. First off, no matter the brand, it has to be appealing to the eye and functional!

GAAAH I've been seeing this scarf dress thing a lot lately.I think it's crazy to spend so much money on it, and it usually looks stupid on people. (except my friend Tash, she pulls it off very well... then again she has a model's body)
