Valentino Bow Jelly Sandals

If you have been following Savvy Mode, it is no secret I am not a fan of jelly sandals and shoes. Jelly trend started Spring 08 but it should go away by now, right?. In the past seasons, I encountered a few styles which almost had me hand over the credit card but alas my inner savvy gal refused to let go. I am still jelly free today. With this being said, it is also no secret I adore Valentino bow pieces. Ah..... I saw these by accident and I had an instant love-hate reaction. I wished the material is patent leather instead of jelly plastic. Why?????
I really like the style but I refuse to pay $275 for a pair of plastic jelly sandals. Friends, please slap me if I consider buying this pair of sandals. Mr. Valentino, can you please make this in leather or satin and leather combo? What do you think savvy gal, is this worthy of $275?

  2. Not worth it, my dear. Just remember the horrible sweaty feeling of plastic on warm summer toes!

  3. I can't believe the cost, I don't think they are worth that price. But apart from the price, I do like them. I like the colour and how it looks like a bow.

  5. Something easily breakable is never worth more than $10.

  6. So tacky! These looks like something you could find in a dollar store. :(

  7. i dont think these are so bad. ive heard a good tip that you should spend less on your summer clothes. so i dont think people should spend that much on such a casual sandal, it takes away the "carefree" element of summer. I always thought the chanel jellies were cute in black with the big grey camellia flower.

  8. Too bad they cost so much because they are super cute, but I don't think worth $275! I wonder if you could make them a DIY project.. get jelly shoes from a dollar store and find some way to make the bow...

  9. Heck no. Jelly belongs on toast. And jelly shoes belong on toddlers. Maybe. If they're cute enough.

    Happy New Year, hon!

  10. Wow wow wow, I absolutely love those! $275 is a lot for plastic flip flops, of course, but it's Valentino so I wouldn't expect anything else... Wondering how much these would cost here in Moscow, Russia, our prices are usually twice as that in USA or Europe, ha, awesome! lol

  13. They have this pair of red bow patent pumps that I am dying for but if they made them in flats I would buy them in a second.

  14. If they were patent leather they'd be twice as much!

  15. They are cute. But all I think about when I see jellies is sweaty feet.

  16. i wouldn't pay 10 bucks for these. the idea is cute but nah....

  17. I think they are adorable, but the price is super steep for plastic sandals IMO

  18. Wow. I definitely like them, but $275?

  23. No! I think that if they're going to be charging that much for a pair of sandal, it better be the best darn sandal!! xxooxoxxo

  24. i am going to be honest here and say that i do not really care for these shoes. i think they look rather cheap and flimsy, not to mention tacky and fashion-victimy. =/

  25. These are way cute, but I think you could totally find them for 1/8 of the price!

    ReplyDelete
  26. these are very cute! But I agree with the others on the price. OUCH!

    ReplyDelete
  27. i love the black one!!! although... $275?! =S

  28. Hmmm ... I've not gotten into the jelly anything footwear ... I agree that the price is totally unreasonable ... wouldn't we all rather have it in real leather?

    ReplyDelete
  29. I'd find leather shoes that look too much like flip flops to be unappealing in that price range, so definitely no to jelly.

  30. wait, that price must be a joke hahhahaha omg sometimes designers can be totally out of their minds. I wouldn't pay over 50 for any sandal I am sorry, but there is just not enough shoe on a sandal to warrant the expense

  31. It's too pricey for that material! :(

  32. You can get better at your local payless. Cute shoes though. Looks comfy!

  33. I appreciate designer quality, but this is a little ridiculous. Leave it to the vapid trophy wives :-)

  35. I still agree with you that it's not worth it.

Maybe it's just because I'm in a colder climate, but I actually haven't seen anyone wearing jelly sandals since the trend supposedly broke out. Have you?

    ReplyDelete
  36. NO way would I pay that for jelly. They are adorable however.

    ReplyDelete
  37. sooo cute but I'd rather buy other things with that price tag!
    xo*

    ReplyDelete
  38. Nope.

    Next question! ;-)

    ReplyDelete
  39. How adorable! But, no. I would not pay that much for it.

  40. LOVE these. Saks is already sold out in the fuschia and only one size left in black...I have seen red and fume, but the fuschia are my favorite and I am dying to find them in my size! And the bow is so beautiful, I say yes, yes, YES they're worth the $$!!! I would wear them each and every day all summer long!

  41. Love them too. I just got a pair from Apple Bottoms...20.00 looks exactly like the Valentino's.
