Do you know of any gal who does not care about small pores? I don't! It seems we are on this constant hunt for the next beauty product to make the skin more flawless than yesterday. For me, my small pore secret for the T-zone area is Biore pore strips. This little baby really works wonder for yours truly. I would place strips on my nose, right above my eyebrows and the area between my eyebrows. Usually I will cut one large strip into smaller sections for areas above eyebrow and between eyebrows. This post is slightly TMI, but I just have to show the result to prove my method really works as promise. Doesn't the strip look like a little forest of clogs. Even though Biore strips are recommended as weekly treatment, I tend to apply strips only once a or twice max per month. I am fearful overuse might damage sensitive skin on the face.

By now, I have this strip application down to a science. If you just apply the strip without preparing your face first, the result is not as effective. This is what I do:
1. Exfoliate with facial scrub first.
2. Open up pores with a hot shower. Hot towel works but not as effective as a hot shower.
3. Apply strips immediate after the shower for max result.
I feel such sense of accomplishment in the end. I refrain from squeezing clogs from my face to avoid accidental damage. In moderation, this is pretty effective for me. What is your method to achieve smaller pores around the T-zone area?

I don't think I have my own method yet, but yours seems perfect. I used to use these kind of strips too until they stopped selling them here for some reason :S
ReplyDeleteOoo I might try and find some of there seen as my pores become bigger by the day - they seem to have pretty good results! :) x
ReplyDeleteI love using these strips. It's satisfying to see what you pulled out, isn't it? So gross. :-)
ReplyDeleteI put one on my boyfriend once. He was horrified by the whole process and was just about in tears when I pulled it off of him. Whiny!
I haven't purchased those in a while, but was thinking of doing so again, I too was worried that I might overuse. They are great- I found a holistic recipe to try using egg whites that I may try, crazy as it sounds. It's supposed to do the same thing. Icky but interesting!

ReplyDeleteI haven't used these in a while. They used to make my nose red and peel. I have stupid sensitive skin. :(
ReplyDeleteI love using these strips. I never used them after a hot shower, but that's what I am gonna do next timw.
ReplyDeleteI'll have to try your tips - for some reason these never work out for me, but I always wish they would.
ReplyDeleteI love that you took a photo of your used strip :D
ReplyDeleteI recently bought a new box of these, and it's time for another application. Your idea for applying it post-shower is great! I'll have to try that.

Wow...now I want to try this, but I'm worried about what I might find! Better to get it out than leave it though, I suppose.
ReplyDeleteOh great tips savvy. I never thought to prep before applying the strips!
ReplyDeletei want to try that biore deep cleansing pore strips, hope it will available soon at Indonesia.
ReplyDeleteI am cursed with hereditary large pores in my T-zone - my mom has them too. I use a dermatologist-prescribed gel that is supposed to exfoliate and minimize them, but it is only so effective. I didn't get a ton of benefit out of the pore-cleansing strips when I tried them, but didn't try using them immediately after showering - great idea! Perhaps I should give them another go.
ReplyDeleteI love these strips! Hubby does too. ;) I def have to try your method with the hot shower, thanks! :)
ReplyDeleteI love Biore! really interesting to see the stuff it pulls out :)
ReplyDeletewhoaa! lots of gunk on the strip. I always remove mine hoping for the same results but there is nothing. I will have to try the hot shower tip .. great idea.
