New Look for Hermes Herbag

Even though I am not 100% yet, I do feel better and am more my bubbly self. However I think it is important to take it easy in the next few days and avoid friends and family as I don't want to accidentally contaminate anyone. I took these pictures the fateful Sunday I became ill. Over dinner I was fine and spunky and became ill soon after dinner. Suddenly I felt tired and feverish. Of course the rest of the week was history......I should have known I was not well when I reached for my comfort pants. There is a RULE about no white after Labor Day but I really like my pants so who cares. Besides, I am seeing lots of winter whites. It is all about how an outfit is put together. These pants are heavy cotton which in my opinion can be year round.
I added a grey denim jacket to keep myself warm. Of course I just have to wear my new 5 flower necklace. It is a new design and quite popular with friends and family.

What I am Wearing:
-Ann Taylor cowl neck sweater ---cowl neck is super flattering on most gals.
-cream cotton Chanel pants
-Habitual grey denim jacket
-orange Tod's ballet flats
-Hermes orange scarf with Hermes Herbag
To break up all the black, white and grey, I added a pop of orange with a Hermes scarf and orange Tod's ballet flats. Instead of its leather strap, I replaced the strap with a colorful scarf for an unique look. How to:
-remove regular strap from Herbag
-fold a 35 cm square scarf diagonally into itself to create a long rope about 2 inch wide (see here for instruction) -tie a knot at the center to keep the scarf from coming apart
- secure one end of the scarf by tying a secure knot around the leather strap on the inside
-repeat on the other side
I have tried this look on other bags. Just store the chain inside the bag. It is really cute with Chanel flap bags. I will show that next time. Do you have a comfort outfit you always turn to whenever there is a blue day? And, will you wear white in the winter?

  1. It sounds like you had a lovely evening before coming down with the flu! You look adorable too! I find myself reaching for unstructured items when I'm coming down with something, like jersey knit dresses, oversize boyfriend cardigans and comfy ballet flats.

  12. it annoys me when people say "but you cant wear white after labor day blah blah" there are no rules anymore! people leave the house in their pajamas, wear jeans to all occasions, sequins during the day, etc... and the people that say that rule, are usu one big mess anyway (as in the people that go about in their pajamas). it's true!!

savvy, maybe you got food poisoning...
fabulous bag! and great scarf too. i like the vibrant colors.

  30. I always say that no white after labour day was for my mother's generation! Break out! Rebel! That said, no cream Chanel pants for me (despite the fact that they're stunning!)--my kid would use his chocolatey little hands to ruin them within 5 minutes. Someday...
    That food looks SO good!
