Mariposa @ Neiman Marcus & Update on Mr. Chubby

First of all, I want to thank all the well wishes from my friends. It is indeed terrible to be down with the flu bug. As yet, flu bug has not left Chez Savvy but I can now eat and get out of bed without feeling dizzy or exhausted. The day before flu bug hit me, BF and I went to a nice lunch at Mariposa at Neiman Marcus. I didn't even know there was a restaurant in the store. Socal is finally cool enough for me to wear boots and sweater. I am just a little lame duck recently. My right ankle is not even heal yet and I am down with a flu. Normally I am not an all black and grey gal but this outfit makes me feel stylish but comfortable.

What I am Wearing:
-Benetton short bi-color sweater
-Emporio Armani tank --- Shopping one's own closet yields all sort of interesting pieces.... I am putting myself on a shopping ban this winter after re-organizing my winter wardrobe.
-Seven jeans
-YSL shoulder bag
-Bandolino knee boots --- These are plain but very comfortable and price savvy
We ordered two sandwiches but were treated with a tiny cup of chicken consomme.
I just fell in adoration with this piece of Yorkshire pudding of a bread. It is crispy and fluffy. This is perfect with whipped strawberry cream cheese.
I never had fish and chip tempura style before. It is perfect with tempura style asparagus.
I must say this is one of the best prime rib sandwiches I have ever had, even if it cost $18 for a sandwich. The bread is light and crispy and the beef is very tender. These fries are double fried so it is light and very crispy. We didn't finish our fries, it would be unwise for my waistline. If you are in the Fashion Island area, I would definitely recommend Mariposa at Neiman.
Speaking of waistline, I think Mr. Chubb gained even more weight. It is hard to tell if he is standing or sitting down. I hope everyone has a great day and I hope to visit all my savvy pals soon. xoxo

  14. Mmm your meal looks delicious! I don't know if I could have finished all those double-fried fries either; they might taste crispy and light as you're eating them but then the calories and the richness register and you feel way too full lol. Or at least that's my experience with fries in general.

Mr. Chubby is so cute! Poor little bird.

  15. I think Mr. Chubby needs to go on diet. BF and I think he should be Mr. Fatty now. I love all our birds but our chubby ones need to exercise a little more now. I want them to stay around for a long time and not becoming din-din for a hawk or victim of early heart attack.

  20. As many times as I've been to Neimans at Fashion Island, I never knew there was a restaurant there. Has it been open for years and I'm just slow?

Anyway, it looks fab and I will definitely go the next time I'm there!
