Jeans: the New Power Suit? & Isis Computer Sleeve
Back in the days, jeans were considered too casual. However, I think jeans are not longer considered inappropriate for meetings and nights out if it is paired well with nice shoes and right top or jacket. I still wouldn't wear jeans to formal events but I wouldn't rule jeans out for informal meetings and definitely jeans are hot for nights out. For both men and women, it is very savvy and stylish to wear nice jeans with a tailored jacket and shirt along with a pair of ultra chic shoes. With ever changing working environment, I see jeans are considered hip and cool, even among the Wall St. crowd. What do you think?
I had to run to a quick meeting but felt silly wearing a 2 piece suit so I opted for jeans with a nice jacket and heels for a tailored but relax look.
These Chanel heels are old but I love them. It really pays to pay for classic timeless pieces.
Speaking of fun and hip, savvy folks over at Isis Dei sent me a couple of computer sleeves the other day. I fell in adoration with the polka dots design. You should go over to check these out at Isis. Why do I like them? Well, it is not only adorable in style; this offers protection for my laptop via memory foam padding when I take it with me on the road. I used to bring a laptop bag with me but there are just so many bags to carry. Now, I just put my laptop in the sleeve and it goes into my tote bag. There, my laptop can go into my bag without me worrying other things in my bag will scratch the surface or if I accidentally run into things (which is often)!!! BF laughed at my choices but he admitted these sleeves fitted my personality perfectly. He is such a guy, if I leave it up to him, he will pick black or grey for me.
I am going to use the pink one for my future smaller laptop. I tried to squeeze my current laptop into this pink one but no luck. ~sigh.... I was very happy however to learn in the future I can trade in old Isis sleeve for new sleeve at 50% off, talk about customer service. And, last but not least, the winner to the scarf giveaway is Christina Lee of Real Style Real People. Congrat my dear!

Very cute!!!
ReplyDeleteI love Chanel-esque blazer. I have got some similar pieces. :-D
ReplyDeleteXoXo
Jeans can definitely be dressed up for somewhat informal business meetings, but I can't stand when people start to take it too far and wear jeans to an interview, for example!
ReplyDeleteugh. Can you dress me please? Oh, and could I not look fat? Thanks.
ReplyDeleteYour choice of jacket and shoes dressed up your jeans and that look really works well for informal meetings. Jeans is a staple in my work wardrobe because I work in the arts industry.
ReplyDeleteLove those cute laptop sleeves.
I like jeans for nights out and dressy casual occasions because dark jeans look classy and dressy and pairing with with heels and a nice top makes all the difference :)

I *wish* jeans were the standard here. They're much too casual for meetings in my office. But I think we can definitely get away with them in this day and age-- just not sure about the slashed and uber faded kind. Love the heels on your Chanel shoes! xx
ReplyDeleteI love dressed up jeans, I think they look fab
ReplyDeleteI love your Chanel-inspired jacket. It goes great with the jeans. I have been sporting a similar look to work lately. My editor doesn't mind if I wear jeans as long as its matched with a nice blazer or jacket such as yours. I think it really is the new power suit! :)

ReplyDeleteand i totally love jeans too! Even dark wash pencil skirts (okay i'm obsessed with pencil skirts) are great for work (i interned at a pr office last summer) because you can wear one at work with sensible pumps/flats, a silky top and cardigan and then take off the cardigan, swap shoes, and put on some smoky eyeliner and voila! =) xx
You look so chic!!!! I wish I didnt work for such a dinosaur of a company. there idea of casual friday is not wearing a tie..... and they are thinking of outlawing colorful tights with dresses!
ReplyDeleteI love the Chanel-esque elements you incorporated into your outfit to dress up the jeans! I agree, jeans are appropriate for so many situations now...I myself could wear jeans to work every day because I work in IT. However, it gets to the point where jeans are always the easiest, laziest, safest choice...and then I get bored and dress to the nines any chance I get. :-)
ReplyDeleteWhat a great, casual outfit!!!

I love when we are allowed to wear jeans to work and I get to dress them up. My favorite is to pair them with open toe heels. :)
ReplyDeleteP.S. Everything is great. I was at the hospital waiting to have a blood test done. Nothing big I promise. :)
XOXO
