When I first started collecting bags, I was quite an indiscriminate shopper. Instead of buying investment pieces, I wasted thousands on latest trends which became dated after a season or two. Of course these bags now belong to my closet of shame. Savvy Sis would giggle every time she look in on them. Now, older and wiser, I will still buy trendy pieces but if I have to hand over lots of gold coins (*Savvy Niece refers to money as gold coins because she gets paid with gold chocolate coins.) then picking something simple is most savvy. When I first looked at the YSL Roady tote, I did not fall head over heel in adoration. However the more I look at the simple tote, the more I am thinking this can potentially be my next bag. I can see myself using this for years because the style is classic and it is appropriate for any age. Even though it is still over $1000+, I am thinking it will be one of those bags that a gal will not grow tire of for years. This, in my eye, is very investment worthy. Roady totes measure approximately 17 x 15 x 6 inches and retail price starts at $1195, depending on the material. I believe that price is as high as about $1500, which is not cheap but almost acceptable (*especially if these ever go on sale).
-The gray bag above is stingray print which is interesting but a gal can become tire of this "uniqueness" quickly. But then, I have gal pals who believe a bag only has a interest life of 3 to 4 months. I don't really agree, I believe if I am going to spend thousands on a bag then I should like it for a while even if I don't use it every day.
Since gray is color du jour for the season, I find myself enamour with this patent leather gray Roady, although black patent and red leather are catching my attention as well. well, I can't buy all three. What do you think of YSL Roady?
