Many moons ago, I only liked white gold or platinum. I thought gold looked too mature. However yellow and rose gold got to me this couple of years. I have been buying rose and yellow gold pieces. Gees, I must be getting old uh......

Between rose and yellow gold, I much prefer rose gold over yellow because it appears warmer. Yellow gold seems slightly cooler, although I won't turn it down if anyone wants to buy me yellow gold jewelry. The Bvlgari B. Zero necklace on left is rose gold and the ring on right is yellow gold; there is definitely a difference in the warmth. Both are currently my favorite pieces to throw on. Gold in its pure form is yellow in color. Adding different alloy elements will change the color. For example, a mix of copper and yellow gold will yield rose gold.

1. Everlon Diamond Knot Rose Gold Necklace starting at $329 (1 + 2 via Kranich's) --- I like the simple design. It's like bezel setting, except with a modern twist.
2. Everlon Diamond Knot Rose Gold Ring $449
3. Tiffany Rose Gold and Diamond Key Necklace $1650
4. Ippolita Rose Gold plated Sterling Silver and Quartz Bangle $695 via Nordstrom
5. Dominique Cohen Rose Gold Earrings $995 via Saks
6. Roberto Coin Diamond Rose Gold Bangle $2780 via Nordstrom
What is the gold of choice for you, white, yellow or rose??
gold gold gold i love gold
ReplyDeleteI chose gold for my wedding and engagement rings. I used to shy away from it, being a veritable blonde, but it actually suits me just fine. And it is timeless chic.
ReplyDeleteRose gold is so pretty - it's more unique than yellow gold. I like mixing it up between all gold colors, but I tend to choose white gold when it comes to major investment pieces.
ReplyDeleteI DIE FOR...
ReplyDeleteX♥X♥
It all depends on the time of day, season, outfit etc...I have most types of jewelry in both silver and gold so I change them all the time.
ReplyDeletewhite and rose. i love the way chunky yellow gold jewelry looks, but it doesnt suit me, so i love it for other people.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous jewelry. I used to be a silver and white-gold person too, but my tastes are also changing. I think there is something special about old-fashioned yellow gold that comforts me and just seems more classy.
ReplyDeleteI'm generally not a huge fan of gold for that same reason, but it's been growing on me lately. I'm more likely to buy a cheap fake yellow gold piece, though, and splurge on a white gold.
ReplyDeletethe key necklace! I want it :D
ReplyDeleteI like white gold the best... and of course platinum.
ReplyDeletei'm much more into white gold, silver, and platinum myself...but i think it is great to have a few key yellow cold pieces in your jewelry box
ReplyDeleteI love the softer gold.
ReplyDeleteI love Rose gold, though white gold always wins for me.
ReplyDeleteMy mom loves rose gold...she pairs it with regular gold and white gold- she has stackable diamond rings- so pretty!
ReplyDeletehahaha I used to love gold when I was younger. then when I got into teenage years until now I lean towards silver... I'm sure when I get old again I'll go back to gold. seems that the older you get the bigger your jewelries get and the more gold you wear!
ReplyDeleteI adore rose gold great post glad I came across your blog!
ReplyDeleteI like all three metals. To me, white looks more bling-y. Yellow and rose take to a softer matte finish better. I have quite a few pieces in rose gold. In fact, I think I'll do a post on them...
ReplyDeleteI'm more of a silver girl so when I want gold I go for white gold.
ReplyDeleteI used to be obssessed with gold when I was little but now I prefer silver or platinum!! I love your choices! xoxoxoxo

do you think that's what it is? we are getting older and wiser, he he in our choices of jewel tones? i can so relate to this post. i used to be a silver-wearing gal, but then slowely i've started to gravitate towards the gold jewelry, and am so happy with my selections. i think both of these tones of gold, the rose and the yellow are lovely. like you say the rose has a much warmer appeal than the yellow, more of a vintage-ee look and yellow more of a modern look.
ReplyDeleteox
i never realized there was rose gold!! it depends on the outfit whcih gold goes better with. i do like yellow gold jewlery more these days though
ReplyDeleteactually I don't like gold. I prefer silver than gold
ReplyDeleteI'm definitely a gold girl. It warms the skin. But there's gold that looks garish, usually the ones from Saudi Arabia and India. But, hey, if anyone gives me any gold jewelry from those places, I'd gladly accept!
