For those of you who follow my adventures, you know already how much I adore macaroons after my first taste at Laduree in Paris a few years ago. Since then, I have been on this constant macaroon hunt here at home and whenever I travel. Needless to say, I had my share of macaroons in the last few years but only a couple came close to Laduree. One was at Bouchon Bakery in Napa Valley. I believed I gained 2 pounds after that week. Perhaps it is my faulty memory at this point for putting Laudree on a pedestal, but boy are they good. Lets just say, I wanted to bring home Laduree macaroon so much, I risked freezing to death in my hotel room. My hotel didn't offer a fridge in the room so I left 2 boxes of macaroons next to open windows in the dead of winter with only heavy drapery to protect us from freezing Parisian night. Well, macaroons needed to be refrigerated so......

Anyhoo, I strayed.... Apparently fashion world is not afraid of food at all. Marni has partnered up with Laduree to tempt us fashionistas with this box of yummy macaroons. This will become available for sale on December 1, 2009 in Laduree shops. I wonder if anyone will be in Paris, London or Tokyo around that time. I would love to get me a box. Do you know of macaroons that are better than Laduree???? I wanna know...... Plllleeezzzzz......
OK. My friends in Paris swear by Pierre Herme. Supposed to be more amazing than Laudree. I want to try them next time. I'm sold by the frothy Laudree box though!

ReplyDeleteI love them too, but I think about the saturated fat in the coconut oil! It goes right into my ass every time.
