Recently I am trying to eat healthier but I adore crispy Chinese noodle which is not exactly on the top of healthy eating list. What is a girl to do? In a restaurant, noodles are fried to achieve that crispiness but fry food and health just can't be in the same sentence. So I turn to Savvy Mom for solution. She told me instead of frying noodles, pan frying noodle will achieve similar crispiness and is a healthier alternative.
How to Make Crispy Noodle with Beef and Vegetable in Oyster Sauces
-Use fresh thin Chinese egg noodles (follow instruction on package)
-Liberally add vegetable oil to a non-stick frying pan
-I added a tablespoon of toasted sesame oil for additional flavor
-Add noodles and pan fry until golden and crispy (stir noodles to make sure every strand gets pan fried)
-Remove noodle and using the same pan....
-Saute ground beef, and minced clove of garlic
-add Chinese broccoli, Bak Choy, and white part of green scallion (cut into 1 inch sections)
-add oyster and chilly sauces (I usually add a little first and taste before adding more.)
-I added about 1/2 cup of chicken stock b/c I like lots of sauce
-add corn starch water, rest of the green scallion sections and turn off heat
***I usually don't take much measurement when I cook, but if anyone has question, feel free to e-mail me at firstname.lastname@example.org. Also you can use any toppings of choice.
Moving to our pet birds, we are getting more and more horizontally challenged birdies. I think they are all having a food feast and gorging all the time. (above pic is Mr. Chubs)
I think Miss. Bubble gained weight. What do you think?
Miss Bubble likes to rest this way. She will just sit there. BF can get as close as about 2 feet before she flies away. He wants her to eat out of his hand. We can't have a pet dog but our pet birds are keeping us busy.
Between rice and noodle, I will pick noodle almost always. What about you?
