When a group of women get together, beauty tips are always on the agenda. We update on the latest conquest and of course tips to make ourselves even more beautiful. After having kids, Savvy Sis said she just couldn't get rid of her dark circles under the eye. Hello! Sleeping might help. Anyhoo, a gal just can't look all that stylish when she looks like a close relative of the panda. So what is a gal to do? Between all my gal pals we compiled a list of things to do in order to lessen these unsightly circles:
-message gently around your eyes daily for about 5 minutes with eye cream
-alternate between hot and cold compress on the eyes
-cool eye gel patch under the eyes --- works wonder for me
-put used cool tea bag under the eyes --- I drink tea every day so I have plenty of tea bags.
-sleep --- get into deep sleep between 11 pm and 2 am. Since I usually don't fall asleep right away, I try to wind down about 11 pm and hopefully fall asleep before 12 am.
As for glowing skin, months ago gal pal's housekeeper made a drink for her by cooking dried dates with plain water. She would drink that as water twice daily. Her skin glowed. I tried the same thing, and I noticed my face has a natural pink glow. I could leave the house without foundation and makeup. I went out to lunch with my parents and they commented on my healthy glow too. Of course, balance diet and exercise are pretty important too. I don't know what this date drink is doing for me but I have noticed the subtle difference.
Do you have a tip for getting rid of dark circles and achieve that pink glow on the face?
Interesting. I just rely on sleep, concealer and a small prayer! I could use the extra water though.
ReplyDeleteThanls, very nice tips

I feel like nothing ever helps...! My skin is pale and very translucent, so I will always have a bit of a circle no matter what I do. Bed time at 10pm (if possible) and a touch of concealer is what I rely on. And drinking lots and lots of water... it feels like hydrating helps a little.
ReplyDeleteDont laugh too hard but - I even tried as a guy putting cucumbers on my eyes... hahaha...
ReplyDeleteYes I am a guy that used to get dark circles under my eyes. I stopped drinking coffee, drank more water, gave up refined sugar and gave my stress an outlet for working out. I do not know which of those things helped but I do not have dark circles any longer.
Thank you for the great tips!
ReplyDeleteThese are great tips! I've actually never tried the tea bags, though I hear it works well.
ReplyDeleteThe only secret we have is lots of water and as much sleep as possible... and Bobbi Brown concealer!
ReplyDeleteSmiles to you Miss Savvy!

such a useful post!
ReplyDeleteGreat post. After a long week at work and not enough sleep I feel inspired to try the tea bag idea.
ReplyDeleteAbout that date drink, I wonder if eating dates is as effective as the water idea. We have TONS of dates here in Saudi. They are so very good for you. I should be like most Saudis and make sure I eat them everyday. :-)
Can someone tell my baby that his mama needs sleep in order to look pretty?
ReplyDeletethank you for the tips, darling! have to try them! xo
ReplyDeleteI don't really get dark circles. Yet. I'm sure I will the older I get.
ReplyDeleteAh dark circles are a bitch to get rid of =/
ReplyDeleteThe date water thing is pretty interesting. I definitely use eye cream or concealer to hide, hide, hide!
ReplyDeleteI've heard of tea bags or cucumbers working well, something about caffeine and coldness.
Fab tips my dear, thanks for sharing these!!

Kristen and Momisodes: My sister said the same thing about kids and dark circles. I am scared now.
ReplyDeleteconcealer, concealer, and a little more concealer :)
ReplyDeleteI am always taking care to avoid Dark circles, but sometimes, even with a lot of sleep, they don't go away...specially during the women´s period...

ReplyDeletekisses
date drink, huh? interesting. as far as circles, i've heard specifically chamomile tea bags will help. i use the two-teaspoons-in-the-freezer-thing for puffiness, but i suppose that's not perfect for discoloration...
ReplyDeleteI ate a date last night. Hope I get the same pink glow you have. :) I don't know if it gives me a pink glow but I love using masks. Sadly, I don't have any tips for dark eye circles as I have panda eyes most of the time...lol.
ReplyDeleteI'm more susceptible to puffiness than dark undereye circles. I try to get as much sleep as I can, drink lots of water, and in the mornings, I use the Garnier anti-puff eye roll-on (it has caffeine to get rid of puffiness and dark circles) followed by concealer. As for naturally glowing skin, I swear by Mary Kay TimeWise Night Solution. I used to get breakouts around the time of the month, but since using this, my skin has looked more energized, rosy, and even-toned even if I didn't get a good night's sleep. I get compliments from makeup artists and strangers on how good my skin looks, and that rarely happened before I started using it!
ReplyDeletei hear sleep works! but i've never been successful at getting a good night's worth. haha
