For a grand opening in Taipei, Hermes offered these little Kelly Doll (initially produced in 2000) to eager Hermes fans with about $3100 (after conversion) burning in their pockets. I can't imagine any respectable grown adult using this but I don't think I will buy this for Savvy Niece as well. She doesn't need a Kelly bag at age 6. She can have one after Auntie Savvy gets hers.....It is a fun twist to the classic Hermes Kelly if you have an extra $3000 to buy yourself a chuckle or two. This Doll bag has eye, nose, mouth, hands and feet. It is very cute and darling but for what purpose? Of course, I am sure some grown-up gals will be fighting over this as a collectible or for resale. What do you think?

Not for me... I'd rather buy a real bag. This is just too impractical.
ReplyDeleteI think it's a little tasteless. Big name designers have the advantage of creating strange collections and pricing them at ridiculous prices but people will still buy into it because of the brand name. $3000 is a big much for a kitty bag, I think. Nonetheless, good post and thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteOkay, this is just not practical. I don't have a daughter but I'd rather invest $3000 towards her college fund than a bag. However, aside from the price, the bags are cute for little ones. Fun colors. :-)
ReplyDeleteSeems like a tasteless plot just to make some extra $$$ off of hysterical fans/collectors. I could see how this collection will sell out instantly and how you will never, ever see anyone carry the bags in the street.
ReplyDeletethats extortion and daylight robbery! >.< not for the ordinary like moi? celebrities will go for it
ReplyDeletexoxo elle
Little Suri will probably have one ;D
ReplyDeleteA celebrity child....Is it too late to hope that Brad and Angelina might adopt me? LOL!
Woah, I dont think it is practical tho
ReplyDeleteActually I think they are hideous and greed plus stupidity springs to mind!
ReplyDeleteHey there. Celebs will probably buy them. Hope you've enjoyed the weekend. Cheers!
ReplyDeleteI don't think I've ever even seen an Hermes bag in person.
ReplyDeleteI'm with Sher! :-)
ReplyDeleteX♥X♥
Um, even if I were a millionaire, I could never imagine myself putting down three thousand bucks for a purse that has a face on it, Hermes or not. Lol. Yeah, little Suri and Shiloh will probably have one of these...and then get bored with it after a month. :S
ReplyDeletePractical or not I want...le sigh*
ReplyDeleteOnly in Taipei?! Lucky Taiwanese I'd say!!
xo*
omg!
ReplyDeletethis is too luxurious and extravagant.
if i have enough money still, i'm not so sure if i will
buy it for my child.
I can see the daughter of a celebrity having one of these little Kelly bags. They are very cute!
ReplyDeleteThanks for passing the F&F coupon along!
If I sold ALL of my bags I could prob buy 2 Hermes...maybe i'll just wait until I can afford one in general - lol!

I think they're so cute! But would I ever get one? Nope. Although, I have always wanted to buy the plush toy horse from Hermes.

ReplyDeleteThey kind've creep me out.
ReplyDeleteLove Grace.
haha oh my god. suri cruise will have one for sure.
ReplyDeleteHow funny! No, not something I'd crave to carry, but they remind me of the American Express commercials featuring "happy" or "sad" objects.
ReplyDeletewow, I'm sure we'll see celebrity kids toting one of these around!
ReplyDeleteso cute..they have eyes, mouth, nouse, hand and feet. perfect for return to kindergarten. only celebrity kids need this collections.
ReplyDeleteI don't know what to do with this!!! I feel confused lol!
ReplyDeleteHi Carrot Eating Twin! :)
ReplyDeleteChinese women are big on labels it seems so I can def see those flying off the shelves. If I had the dough, I still wouldn't buy it though!
Too much for a toy..:D
ReplyDeleteI'd rather buy a pack of replicas.
