For me, I will usually avoid silver in the fall and winter and pick warmer gold or pewter metallic colors instead. I have not been a Bally fan but this short gold/bronze metallic python jacket ($1405 via intermixonline.com) is quite interesting and stylish. Although I just said I wanted to avoid silver in the winter, this Calypso St Bart steel grey silk ($175) dress sure got my attention. Even if I don't adore overall metallic, I sure adore metallic accessories such as bags, clutches, and shoes. What is your favorite metallic color?
***By the way, I will be taking a short trip to San Francisco this weekend so have a great weekend and I will see all my bloggie friends back here on Tuesday.
i love metallic color. but it's not matching with my skin color. if i wear a metallic color, my skin looks dirty.
ReplyDeletehave a nice weekend Savvy
I love the metallic trend but a full on metallic outfit wouldn't look good on me at all.
ReplyDeleteHave fun in San Francisco.
ReplyDeleteI agree silver tends to be a cold color and we want warm tones for fall... I prefer bronze or muted gold tones for the cold season.
I agree with you on the metallics. The Calypso St Bart steel grey silk dress is really lovely, and I think it's dark enough to not be too silver. Silver in winter seems a bit too "New Year's Eve" at times, if you know what I mean, but I do love that dress. I think I will stick to more of the bronze and gold tones :)
ReplyDeleteI really like charcoal metallics; but I find that blacks with a little shimmer, or flamboyant golds are fabulous as well. Charcoal metallics, however, seem the most wearable and versatile.
ReplyDeleteHave a fabulous time in San Francisco, darling; stay safe! :)
I love those Chanel boots! I actually think you can wear silver in the fall/winter, as long as you break it up with some blue/green or whatever color goes with your outfit. I used to wear a knitted silver mini dress with 3/4 sleeves and pair it with turquoise tights and it looked pretty decent.
ReplyDeleteHave a great time in SF!
I have metallic top, that I wear to parties. Just the right amount of shine without overload.
ReplyDeleteI love metallic! I especially adore that jacket! Sooo chic. :)
ReplyDeleteI love metallic too but it's something I've never really tried! It always looks amazing on the runway.
ReplyDeletei love metallics, and those pink wedge shoes! =)

LOL, you could NEVER look like the Tin-Man. Generally I prefer like bits and pieces here and there but have seen fabulous metallic dresses I would definitely wear.
ReplyDeleteHave a great trip!
Yes! I'm all about the metallics. I would love to have a silver metallic purse like that Gucci number *sigh*.
ReplyDeleteI need to implement more metallics into my wardrobe!
ReplyDeleteim not really a fan of metallics, but im oddly attracted to that gucci suit. ive been in tacky mood lately.
ReplyDeleteI like the edresses more than the designer labels.
ReplyDeleteI want the last dress! :-)
ReplyDeleteXoXo
My faves are pewter, bronze and gold. Goes well with my skin tone. Silver reminds me too much of an astronaut for some reason, and I agree that it's too "cold' for winter.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy SF!
I like the metallic trend. But I don't like it when it looks too cheap and that is a fine line!

ReplyDeleteI've added 3 metallic versions of the Eiffel tower to my bag. I'm glad I kept all my metallic items!
ReplyDeleteNice choices! Love the Gucci sling back and that last silk dress I REALLY love :)
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your trip!
Hey there. Great post. I hope you've been having a wonderful weekend. Take care. Cheers!
ReplyDeleteEva looks SO gorgeous in that dress! But yup, it could definitely be a hard look to pull off without looking toooo metallic. I am loving that python jacket at the end though, the colour is gorgeous. I still want a pair of pale bronze oxford shoes. Hope you're having a lovely weekend :)
ReplyDeleteI like the metallic trend, though I've never really gotten into it. The most metallic I'll wear is usually in the form of some silver strappy sandals. I love the Balmain dress though and that gold/bronze jacket you picked is really fab. Hope you're having fun in SF!
ReplyDeletexo, Becs
silver:)
ReplyDeletelove the edressme dresses:x
Love the metallics!
ReplyDeleteI think I like metallic looks when they aren't purely shiny, but are kind of matte or burnished so they aren't quite as bright - kind of like the jacket and dress from the last two pictures you posted. I love both of those pieces, by the way.
ReplyDeletei like the gold toned metallic pieces . if i can find something in my price range i definitely wearing it .
ReplyDeletehope you are having a great time in SF!
ReplyDeleteI don't own many metallic pieces but I like metallic accessories more than clothes.
I like metallics, to me they are like neutrals, like beige , or grey , or black. Easy to wear and can spice up an outfit, Eva Mendez is so HOT!
ReplyDeletelove all the dresses.
ReplyDeleteperfect and they never go out out style.
I adore metalic, especially in acessories because they work as a wonderful neautral but also add an extra bit of style. My favorite would be a burnished brass color which is perfect for the fall, but I'm inspired by this post to try a few others!
ReplyDeleteI love metallics all year 'round! And those Gucci slingbacks are so fab!
ReplyDeleteI love the look...it is so much fun!
ReplyDeleteso bling bling. so cling cling
