Do you avoid cream/white outfits? Love/Hate Relationship with James Perse

Normally I avoid white and light cream color clothes yet I am oddly attracted to the colors because these shades are so cool and clean. For some unknown reason, don't you think white and cream have a way of making a gal look slight horizontally challenged? *So unforgiving..... Once I tried a set of white Juicy tracksuit to only to insult myself after I pulled the bottom on. Trust me, it was not a pretty sight and Savvy Sis was on the floor laughing. I found this cream color cotton dress over the weekend and decided I should wear it before putting summer things away.
I love the cross detail in the back.
What I am wearing:
-cream color James Perse ultra soft cotton dress. He is one of my favorite designers when I look for comfort and style. I just adore the softness of this dress even if it is quite unforgiving after a big meal.
-Gucci sunnies --- I adore pink sunnies so BF says I look at the world through rose color glasses.
-Dark beige Tod's wrap around sandals --- Savvy Sis has the flat version here, she calls them her all terrain sandals.
On a side note, after months of debate and encouragement from perfect strangers and friends, I am going to set up a new jewelry business venture. It will mainly be costume jewelry pieces. I am very excited but at the same time that means I will be working all the time. I am working on the site now and looks forward to feedback from my bloggie friends. Stay tune!!!

  1. My closet is full of blacks coz im such a klutz when it comes to dirt (it just luvs to stick to me, so black seems less noticeable on dirt ;p). White clothes are what I always dream of putting on sigh~ u look gr8 in this! xoxo elle

  2. I love that dress on you! I'm too afraid of spilling something on a white outfit - even though I'm not usually a messy person!

Good luck with the jewelry! I'm excited to see what you create.

  13. I think it's a lovely dress. I, however, have this obsession with pairing cognac riding boots with all white dresses - I just love the way it looks; so that would be my footwear of choice for such a frock.

Congratulations on starting a jewelry business. You are going to be monstrously successful - I've loved everything you've created thus far! :)

  35. Yes, white tracksuits suck, but I don't think white dresses are as unflattering.. I own several and they all look pretty decent on me (I hope, at least!).

You look great in your dress though - nothing unforgiving about that one.

  36. I think the same thing when it comes to light colors! I think whites/creams have to be cut in a certain way to counteract the "short effect." I had wanted white skinnies for awhile, but after trying some on, I realized it made me look about 3 feet tall. But I bought some white trouser pants and I look perfectly normal in them. Weird! I think you still look tall and lean in that white summer dress, though! Very breezy and casual chic!

  39. I used to be a cream color addict, but back then I was blond and I was wearing a lot of make up. Now in my natural colors (very close to yours) I find my self washed out in cream, unless I wear a scarf or some other accessories in bright colors...
Stark white looks great on me, and I'm sure on you too.

Cream and white usually make me look thinner too.
