Back to the point of this post, I have purchased furs in the past. However, I have been rethinking this fur thing. So when I came across Copenhagen Artificial Fur, I was pretty excited. This company makes faux fur pieces which still provide us savvy gals luxurious styles without buying real furs. Besides, living in sunny Southern California, I really don't have the need to buy fur since I usually get to wear these pieces only 2 to 3 times a year if I am lucky.
I contacted the people at Copenhagen Artificial Fur for price points since I want to know for myself. I found out luxurious scarves cost from approximately $108 and the shoulder wraps from approximately $366. The most expensive item is a “mink” jacket with fluted sleeves and Swarovski crystal banding costing approximately $4263. CAF is positioned as a luxury brand and each piece is carefully made(lining is hand stitched and has piping in our signature orange colour. And, Swarovski crystals are all sewn on by hand.) in Copenhagen, Denmark. Now I am really curious if these fur pieces are as luxurious as they look on the picture.
So let me ask what is your favorite fur style (coat, jacket, scarf, or wrap) and will you consider real fur only, faux fur only, both, or none of the above?

I love real, long fur coats and scarfs.

Hi there-I have a real fur 80s jacket-because its vintage, it makes sense to re-wear it. I also have faux fur too-I love the pieces you've shown, the scarfs and wraps are adorable!!
ReplyDeleteI really realy REALLY want a fur coat!! Like Edie Sedgewick :)
ReplyDeletexx.
I LOVE the white wrap. When I was out living in the NYC area my grandmother would come to visit and would wear her full length faux mink. I always feared someone would spray paint her 80 year old fantasticness but I always loved it.
ReplyDeletei too live somewhere where its warm to hot year round, where leather can only be worn during a winter (cold front) at night, and that only happens a couple of times a yr. so fur is not a necessity.
ReplyDeleteI know it is horribly un-PC but I love real fur! I have a mink capelet that belonged to my grandmotehr that I am obsessed with! Unfortunately, in Southeast Texas it doesn't get much use. :(
ReplyDeleteI love that white wrap!! Gorgeous! Fortunately, I live out in the midwest, so I can wear this type of stuff a lot during the winter. Unfortunately, I live in a hippie part of town where you could literally get run over for wearing anything resembling an animal (true story: a woman wearing faux fur was actually killed here b/c some crazy kids thought she was wearing REAL fur). Scary world!
ReplyDeleteI bought a really cute real fur coat at an antique shop in Maine a summer ago for less than $100. It needs to be re-lined, but it's so cute w/ unique buttons. I haven't worn it yet, as it hasn't been relined. I feel it's something I will cherish when I am a bit older but for now...it sits in the closet!
ReplyDeletehmmm i dont think i've ever bought fur before... fake or real... i know, i know... haha! but if i did buy fur, i think i'd go for the coat! :) i'd love to be able to rock casual/luxurious together!
ReplyDeleteI have never owned fur of any kind - faux or real. I would never wear real fur, but these faux looks are gorgeous. I'm quite taken with that jacket! :)
ReplyDeleteSigh...just remembered the fabulous faux fur by Juicy that I saw online at Bloomi's last year. It was $450 I think. I was waiting for it to go on sale - of course when it did it, I was too late - it was gone-zo!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely agree - cute with LBD and/or jeans :)
Oh and I can't remember if I already thanked you on a previous post, just in case I didn't, thank you for your supportive comments :) And hope you don't listen either - you look fab!
Oddly enough, my gma has this fur wrap (not sure what kind of fur it is), but I always used to wear it when i "dressed up" at her house... I should ask her if I can have it... she'll never wear it again.
ReplyDeleteAND
I just saw some cute fur wraps at an estate sale recently.
Great ideas!
(and with jeans?? I LOVE!♥)
not a fun of anything fur - maybe when I am older *wink*
ReplyDeleteI'd wear faux fur only. Maybe a short jacket over an LBD.
ReplyDeleteI don't think I would wear a Stole, but I love the coats.
ReplyDeleteSuch a great post, dear. I love faux fur, there are some great pieces.
ReplyDeleteI want :(
xoxo
I'm not so much of fur person but I would definitely go for faux...but then if it's vintage then I guess it wouldn't matter. I love the little fur jackets you can get (the cropped ones?) they always look so chic.
ReplyDeleteI rather like the sixth one!
ReplyDeleteI think I would go faux- it's inexpensive and makes me feel better.
What pretty pieces! I own both, but rarely wear them.
ReplyDeleteI don't have a fur (real or fake) of my own yet but one day I think it would be fun to indulge in this luxury. I love the fur shawls, they are so gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure I've got a favorite style. I do love fur. Maybe it's not politically correct, but I do love real fur. I don't really have a problem with it. These are great photos. I love all of these.
ReplyDeletei dont have any fur yet, maybe never. as you know my country weather was so hot like oven even on the night. i love jacket and coat, i will never go out without jacket or coat, because i don't want my skin become darker. hahaha...
ReplyDeleteI love the little capes. I've never owned any fur, but I'd rather go for faux fur.
ReplyDeletei love real furs <3
