Red Wine & Red Velvet Cake & 3 Awards

Even though I believe in healthy living, I am still quite a foodie. Before I met BF, I only liked white wines. Now, I am beginning to appreciate red wine more and more. While preparing dinner the other night, I got hungry so I took a few bites of dessert, a huge red velvet cupcake. Since we were preparing steak that night, we opened a bottle of Pinot we got from Santa Barbara. After taking another bite of the cake, I took a sip of the wine and the result was harmonious balance. Needless to say, I finished the cupcake as result. Darn it! Do you pair red wine with desserts? I also love to pair red wine with chocolate.

Last but not least, I want to thank all the lovely savvy gals who have honored me with these awards. I want to apologize for not posting sooner as I am crazy busy this couple weeks with work and friends visiting from abroad. I enjoy all the craziness but it is hard to be on top of everything at once.

Thanks to ShopN'Chomp for the lovely Meme Award.....
Thanks to Aubrey at Made You Blush for this Fancy Pants award.....
Thanks to KAC at A Boston Belle for this Splash Award.....

Off me go again, have a wonderful day savvy guys and dolls!

  4. Oh, the food. I miss the foodie days. I actually wrote for a newspaper AS as a foodie. My last foodie blog was a serious critique of hospital food right before I gave birth. Now it seems that I would only have beanie weanie to blog as well as the joys of celery shaped like a log on a river for my children's amusement. Thank you for the memories. Now I believe I have raisin bran to snack on. Gah.

  6. that looks so good...I'm craving dessert right now. I don't really drink wine with dessert just because I feel like it's too sweet-on-sweet but maybe if it was a dry white/red.

  9. Yummo! The combination of red wine and red velvet sounds fabulous - I haven't tried it, but will have to! It's pairing two of my favorite things together =) I'm a big Pinot Noir fan - it's more of a fruity red wine, so delicious =) Now you have me CRAVING red velvet cake!

The only time I have wine is when I cook with it or once in a blue moon like at a party. I would like to learn more about it since I know it is good for you! And red velvet always makes me swoon...hee hee...
