Before anyone gets all excited (that include family and friends reading this blog), I am not getting engaged. However BF and I have tentatively discussed which styles might catch my interest. I have helped gal pals in the past with diamond engagement ring shopping and I do have an idea what might catch my fancy. However, when I begin to think about "my ring", I am lost. It is so much easier when the ring is on the other hand, uh..... One style that caught my eyes was the micro-pave setting by Harry Winston but I became a little reluctant after I figured out the price tag. I almost choked after learning a 2 carat ring (*not even the best color and clarity) can cost more than $50,000. What!!!! It would be nice to have a HW, but I would rather invest the premium toward the rock. For $50,000, a gal can get lots of rock else where. Although I still don't know what I may like in the end, I find myself leaning toward styles with pave settings. I think I would be happy with any of the rings by Ritani (All 4 rings in the above image). All the settings are done with pave diamonds which are delicate and classic. I don't know which center stone I like the best, I am confused! After going back and forth, we decided I would love my ring no matter what. After all, it is the idea behind the ring that is important. I can always buy other rings in the future. What do you think of pave setting and which center stone do you like the best?

Oh wow, how could you pick just one? They're all amazing!
ReplyDeletewow they're all so pretty!
ReplyDeleteI think for me I'd like my engagement ring to be a bit less bulky, cuz I find that big chunky diamonds get caught on sweaters etc when you take off your clothes. Eventhough I do love big diamonds haha!
"FROST YOURSELF"...oh how i LOVE that saying ♥ via How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days of course. My go to when i need a good laugh :) Hello...is that my Tiffany "Legacy" diamond ring i see? If not...it's mighty close. You've got GRRRRRRRRRRREAT taste girly. I'm sure when he does...you'll not be disappointed. Happy Friday luv.
ReplyDeletewoo hoo this post excites me b/c I got pave dimionds on my ring 10 years ago- have always loved them!!
ReplyDeleteWho doesnt love diamonds? :D
ReplyDeleteI want one of each.
ReplyDeleteI adore pave!
xoxox,

The pave setting is beautiful and very classic. I cannot believe the price of a Harry Winston...ouch.
ReplyDeleteI love the canary diamond as well as the emerald cut in the photo above. So classy!
These are stunning. As a solitaire, I prefer brilliant cuts but with pave diamonds, I love asscher and emerald cuts. My cousin just got engaged over a month ago and has a lovely assher cut pave engagement ring, it's stunning and makes me wish I could get another ring/setting...again...for the 2nd time. Yeah, probably out of the question.
ReplyDeleteHappy weekend, SG :)
Gorgeous! I want them all!
ReplyDeletelove 'em all!!! ive found though that it's helpful to actually try them on becaue i was SET on getting a princess cut but when my bf took me to try one on... it just didn't look goood on me!!
ReplyDeleteLovely- I really want a canary diamond in the center and pave band...kind of like the one you have but I'd prefer princess or cushion cut. I am no where near getting engaged, but a girl can dream! :)
ReplyDeleteI flip flop back and forth. One day I like oval. The next I like square. Then I like circular. Honestly, I think when the time comes, I'll be happy with whatever. As long as it's coming from a boy I love! :)
ReplyDeleteMy ring looks just like the top middle one! Round cut with 4 prongs and pave on the band. Great choices! :)
ReplyDeleteNeeeever too early to thing about rings ;) And I always think simple is best, though obviously with a nice sized stone! Hope you're having a lovely day :)
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the pave look.
ReplyDeleteI'll take the canary pretty please. I love pave settings!
ReplyDeleteI am going back and forth.... Can't take one of each uh.... *Sigh. I think something really simple with the pave setting is the key.
ReplyDeleteI can get you LOTS of rock. Come to me when you're ready for a ring. You should always buy a loose diamond anyway and then set it when you're ready for a significant sized stone.
ReplyDeleteOooh! I like the circular one at the bottom :)
ReplyDeleteHmm..I prefer the square diamond rather than circle one!
ReplyDeleteI think the skirt is probably sold out but Topshop always have some gorgeous skirts available :-) xxoxoxoxo
Those rings look GORGEOUS!
ReplyDeletethese are beautiful, and i like the top round one the best! but it is such a tricky decision! i am positive i would have to pick out my own, and i know that is probably not supposed to happen!
ReplyDeleteThey are all beautiful. I wish I didn't have an aversion to diamonds and stones. All I want is a simple band with an engraving. I guess I'll make some chap very happy one day.
ReplyDeleteLove Grace.
You know, I don't usually like the micro-pave settings (they seem like a little too much bling) but the versions you posted look delicate and tasteful. I like the circular version at the bottom best.
ReplyDeleteI just don't wear things on my hands or fingers (except for my watch) so it's hard for me to imagine wearing a wedding ring. I guess I'll cross that hurdle if I am ever engaged but won't worry much about it in the meantime.
well, i dont care with pave setting or wich center stone best of my engagement ring. i will love my ring even that ring not a gold ring, no diamond or all. i just love my ring no matter what, that's my ENGAMENT ring.......
ReplyDeleteTop middle is my fav.
ReplyDeletehow nice that you and your bf have discussed that!!!!! =D xxx
ReplyDeleteI love pave rings and my fave center stone is a round brilliant!
ReplyDeleteThose are so beautiful. I'm not sure what type of ring I'd like, but I'll know it when I see it. There was one I looked at with my boyfriend that had a princess cut diamond and a band covered in diamonds. It was really pretty and I could definitely see it on my finger for the rest of my life.
ReplyDeleteOn a more humorous note, a girl I used to work with has her heart set on a Tiffany ring because it'll "retain its resale value over time." We weren't able to convince her that the real value is sentimental!
Excellently written article, if only all blogger offered the same level of content as you, the internet would be a much better place.
