I was pretty excited when I saw these two Chanel watches. Either the black or the white will be timeless and classically Chanel so there is really nothing to dislike from the image. So being a curious sort of gal, I just had to see for myself how each would look on my wrist. I was able to try the white one and to be honest I was slightly disappointed. Don't take me wrong, it is still a classic watch in design as it is inspired by the Chanel No. 5 bottle. And, there are lots of little diamond blings which a gal just can't say no as we all know diamonds are our BFF. With these being said, I was amazed the the size of the watch, it was, how should I put it, rather small. Savvy Mom commented she would need a magnifying glass to look at the time. I guess she is not going to buy the watch so I can borrow any time soon, uh!

To give you an idea of the size, I would say the watch face is about the size of my thumb nail. I might even guess the width maybe be slightly more narrow and the length slightly longer, but you get the idea. The band is made of matted satin and the watch is stainless steel with pave diamonds for accent. The retail price is $3850 which is not terrible for luxury watches but I don't think I will be buying this piece in the near future because it is too plain as a jewel watch but slightly too delicate for my taste as a day watch. What do you think?
The watch in that picutre looks absolutely gorgeous and who can say no to diamonds.. But the watch face seems small to be practical.. I want it.. but I doubt it would be a smart buy

I admit, I rarely wear watches anymore and I have two nice ones by Hermes and an ever cuter one by LV. I keep meaning to get into wearing them again.
ReplyDeleteThe ribbon band is a lovely touch. It looks more like a piece of jewelry than a watch.
ReplyDeleteI think they are super cute!
ReplyDeleteI'm with you SG, the white one~
xo*
Those watches are gorgeous. But yeah, probably not the most practical things for telling time. Lol. I like your mom's comment about the magnifying glass. Hehe.
ReplyDeleteI have to say that I like a larger face watch. The delicate ones are meant to be worn as evening watches, I guess. But who wants to be squinting at their wrist when they're out on the town?
ReplyDeleteI'm definitely liking the design of the watch but I agree with you, it's too small!! A little too dainty for me, I guess ;-)
ReplyDeleteI guess my iPhone is my "watch" these days...
ReplyDeleteVery pretty but I'm not crazy about the satin. I can totally see why the black would look better on than the white. Just get another Cartier :)
ReplyDeleteIt's gorgeous...but I think too small (esp for the price)!
ReplyDeleteVery nice which reminds me I can't wait to see the new Coco film.
ReplyDeleteI WANT THE BLACK ONE.
ReplyDeleteI'm with you. It seems to fall in between. Plus, I don't like how small the face is. I don't want to have to constantly squint to read the time.
ReplyDeleteI agree- while they are gorgeous and lovely, they are almost a little too plain for the money spent! But gorgeous none-the-less! :) XOXO
ReplyDeleteI don't like it. Way too small and way too simple and plain looking. The strap looks cheap (from the picture). Definitely not a fan.
ReplyDeleteit is gorgeous and timeless...I love it!
ReplyDeletewatches are my thing, and i am loving this chanel watch because it is so classic, I found your blog through brunch at saks and am so glad i did!
ReplyDeletetoo tiny is no good!!! thankfully i can take this off of my wish list! :)
ReplyDeleteGreat idea to share the 16 oz with your fam. I'm the only one that uses La Mer (darn) or else I'd do the same...hehehe. If you can wait though, get it at the next Saks F&F (next year).
ReplyDeleteYou have THREE of those Moschino belts?! I am incredibly jealous at this point, I NEED those belts in my life!
ReplyDeletebisous,
La C.
I think this could be a very nice watch for everyday even though it is on the fancier side. I love the white one!
ReplyDeleteI would go for the black one. A very classic look.
ReplyDeleteSG, I am not feeling it for this watch.
ReplyDeleteI totally agree with you on the watch. Great post.
ReplyDeleteThey sound so small! I don't think I would want a watch with such a small face.
ReplyDeleteI want the black one...
ReplyDeleteXoXo
Those watches sound sweet! I like the idea of them being so tiny.
ReplyDeletewow...so small...i think we need magnifying glass to look at the time as your mother say. hihihi...
ReplyDeletebut, those chanel watch so fabulous!!! i love the design!!
So delicate and beautiful! But I'm with you - I don't think I could see myself wearing something like this for a day watch.
ReplyDeleteLuv it. Want it. I saw the better version of these watches (still terribly small face) at Chanel this past weekend. They have the ceramic with white/black leather woven around the ceramic. I think I'd rather have one of those. It's dainty and so am I. I hate the J12 watches (which look so big they should be on a man's hairy arm). I'm just saying....
ReplyDeleteGoodness! i just bought it for $3400 GBP ! The price have doubled over the past 7 years!
