Uh?
***This will make sense to those who visited Taiwan or Asia before. Some of the restrooms in public areas do not have regular toilets. Rather women squat over an open channel on the floor but each bathroom stall is divided for privacy.***
So she wore her romper out for the first time only to regret such action during restroom break. First she had to undress herself and then squat to do her thing while trying to hang onto her romper so it would not touch the floor. I can totally see this unpleasant picture in my mind.
Back to me, while I don't have to squat over an open channel on the floor but I do have to undress myself and hang onto the top of the romper during a restroom break so it doesn't touch anything accidentally. I don't know if I like that. I can just see myself feeling all weird if any part of my romper touches a public toilet accidentally. So if I am to purchase a romper, it will only for days which I know I will not need to use a restroom outside. So ladies, have you any issue with a romper or J-suit?
By the way, the romper shown above was so cute. Another gal pal purchased the J-suit in similar style couple of weeks ago and it was adorable on her.

you know what that is EXACTLY why I have not got myself a romper, or a body suit at American Apparel... Just seems so much work to go to the washroom!
ReplyDeleteI think if I were going to do one, I would do a strapless one. Just seems like it would be easier to pull up and down!
ReplyDeleteso cool...
ReplyDeleteYikes. I never even thought about that! I'm really, really glad you brought that up. Thank you! Um, I'm not sure if I would ever buy a romper...but if I do, I will only wear it on days I'm fairly certain I'm not going to need a public restroom. Lol.
ReplyDeleteI know exactly what you're talking about. I have a romper, and it's such a huge ordeal to go to the bathroom!! It's so annoying I don't even want to wear it.
ReplyDeleteI don't really love the romper's anyway. I think that they can look awkward and like a big diaper. Hmmmm.
ReplyDeleteI've heard all about these squat toilets. Apparently, the majority of the non-Western world uses them. Enough for me to say no way romper.
ReplyDeleteLove Grace.
Oh gawd, the dreaded Asian toilets. The only thing (besides mosquitoes) that make me cringe on overseas trips. I couldn't wear the romper out as cute as it is. Maybe wear it at home just to look cute for da man...hee hee.
ReplyDeleteI have bought two for daily and a few that I wear to sleep and the bathroom part is the worst!
ReplyDeletethe bathroom was my major concern too. but if you choose something like the pic above with a lot of stretch, or tube top version, you can slide right out:)

a friend of mine said the same thing about a jsuit while on a family vacation...
ReplyDeleteI have a silk romper for eveningwear. While it's undeniably awesome on, it's very um... inconvenient. Because it buttons all the way up. Try to envision that-- while you're out for cocktails and needing to take a bathroom break ;)
ReplyDeleteI wear one to bed...and i must say it's quite comfy!!! The potty break is a pain, but if you hold it just right it doesn't touch anything. I guess it's all practice and patience. Ohh...the joys of being a woman. Look what we suffer...for fashion at that.
ReplyDeleteThat's what puts me off too, even in a regular toilet, it would still feel weird basically stripping to pee.
ReplyDeleteBut I still think they may be worth it, they look great, maybe you just can't drink when you go out in one?
No rompers for me. Even if there was easy pee access I still wouldn't want one.
ReplyDeletegoodness! soo true! I have one, but I guess I never had to go pee with it, lol!

LOL I am trying to picture your friend in that toilet stall. I never thought of this issue until today. Maybe no romper for me too.
ReplyDeleteDitto for me! I know exactly what you mean ;)
ReplyDeleteLOL, SG you make me laugh! Yes, it is a little inconvenient...I actually haven't worn mine out yet - just for the very reason. But perhaps on a short outing - maybe for a quick bite or to friend's where the *facilities* will not require squatting, it would be fine :)
ReplyDelete@DreamSequins: oh god, that would be horrible!!!
ReplyDeleteThis is exactly why I will never buy one. Just wear a color matching top and bottom and everyone will mistake it for one until they look too close.
just reading about a romper touching something in a public bathroom grosses me out!
ReplyDeleteI recently read that about a romper as well and it has definitely put me off them! I hate the idea of stripping in a restroom, even if I am in a private stall...it's just awkward.
ReplyDeleteThat is so funny, I'm glad you wrote about this because I honestly never thought about that problem with rompers before. I always thought they were cute but now I am going to think twice about that dilemma before I buy one!
ReplyDeleteUh I do not know what to think about the romper! It is cute, but I am not sure I could pull it off! Great post as always :) XOXO
ReplyDeleteHi there-If its not totally expensive, I say get one if its a particular one you've seen and liked. You can always just wear it indoors!!
ReplyDeleteOh ! so lovely !
ReplyDeletethis romper is just adorable! I would buy one but just wear it inside.. its a shame that no one would see something so cute. but still i dont like the thought of it touching a public bathroom floor
ReplyDeletexxx
hahaha...
ReplyDeletebeen there & done that squat restroom!
If possible I avoid all public restroom all together errr???
The romper is really cool! I totally understand your dilemma though - I have even been known to keep my bag on my shoulder or lap in public restrooms if there's no hook to hang it up, haha!

It looks so easy, beautiful and comfortable....I enjoy it :)))
ReplyDeleteThat was such an interesting post. I hope you're doing well this week. Take care. Cheers!
ReplyDeletehehhehe great post Savvy Gal, we must both have rompers on the mind as my latest post is on the jumpsuit too :), going to the loo is such a nuisance in them!

thanks for your sweet comment, am feeling alot better. And I agree with you about the rompers. I own only one but if I do wear it, its for short timed events. Lol.
ReplyDeleteStill, if anyones got a solution to the 'problem at hand', please do share so I can indulge :)
The romper in your picture is cute, but yes, the inconvenienc factor is a bit too much.
ReplyDeleteAnd I know exactly what type of toilet your friend is talking about...we have them in Indonesia as well. The floor is always wet and gross...I avoid those bathrooms like the plague.
yes that's right, it so hurd to get pee if we wearing a romper or jumpsuit. specially in my country, Indonesia. i hate to get pee on a public toilet!! smells not good, no water, many bacteri, virus, fungus and many so so so disgusting!!!
ReplyDeletewell, the another reason i don't wanna wear a romper or jumpsuit again because my bore abdoment. hehe..people will think i'm pregnant!!
LOL it's funny. But I do know what you mean, SG :-)
