LBJ: The Versatile Little Black Jacket

Like the LBD (little black dress), a gal can't have too many stylish LBJ, AKA little black jacket, in her savvy wardrobe. In my already overly stuffed closets, there must be at least a dozen black jackets but whenever a savvy little black presents itself, I find myself unable to say no.

Back in my suit wearing corporate days, I preferred shorter fitted jackets because of my petite frame. Also this style is more tailored which is younger and less severe than a traditional jacket. A longer jacket weights down my petite height and shorter jackets are more chic and stylish in my humble opinion. Besides for work, stylish short black jackets are one of the easiest way to dress up a pair of jeans. Throw on a pair of jeans with some bold colorful accessories, a black jacket transforms from work to stylish fun instantly. For those days when I don't have time to change after work, I will bring a pair of jeans with fun heels to work so I don't have to wear my work outfit dinner out with friends.

Of course whenever I buy a black jacket or any jacket for the matter, I will try to buy the matching skirt or pants just in case I need them for more formal or professional occasions.
And the girlie girl in me will pick something feminine and fitted to go underneath the jacket. I prefer crisp form fitting white shirts. A lot of guys tell me they are oddly attracted by women in form fitting white dress shirt even though they can't see anything.
Whenever I wear a black outfit, I will try to accent the look via shoes or handbags.
-red heels by Christian Louboutin $745 --- I am so in adoration with red shoes recently.
-Jimmy Choo beige patent heels sale $485
-French Sole Ballet flats $225 (all 3 via Saks.com) --- The quilting detail is very Chanel-ish and very classic. Actually I do have a pair of Chanel flats very similar in style and with the quilt detail.

So savvy readers, how do you wear your little black jackets or is it only for work?
