Shiny & Silky Hair

Have you ever wonder how some gals have all the luck with silky shiny hair. Well, I would have traded my first born to have long straight shiny hair, like lots of gals I see in Asia. Alas, I was not so lucky because of my slightly natural curly hair. Anyway, I saw Anne Hathaway's beautiful straight shiny hair the other day which reminded me to share the secret to getting healthy glossy looking hair.

So from a hair stylist, I learned years ago to rinse hair with cold water after conditioning would produce glossy super healthy looking hair. After shower, if I am up to it, I would run cold water over my hair only. This step will close up all hair cuticles which lead to gloss and shine. Then dry with hair dryer with downward wind draft and pulling straight hair. It's so much more pleasant to do this cold rinse in the summer time; winter, not so much. But then, beauty is pain sometimes, right!

Anyway, I wanted to change my hair style a bit. So last night before going to sleep, I curled my hair with an 1 inch iron and went to bed. In the morning, my hair will have a slight curl and with a bit of messy just got out of bed look. This works wonder with long hair too. That is how Savvy Sis manage to have super hair every morning. She would curl her hair before going to bed and in the morning she is ready to start her day with the kids.

  3. I know I should rinse with cold water but its so hard to do. Even when I try to position myself so only my hair gets wet, it never seems to work out right for me haha!

  4. Oh I heard about using cold water too. Though I always forget in the mornings when I'm a little groggy and the last thing I want is cold water on my head!

  8. definitely some great tricks!! ...you are gorgeous and so is your hair. so soft. so pretty :)

As a blonde, I hate using "shine" products on my hair because they just make it feel and look greasy to me. yuck.
