With that in mind, I suggests she should have some fun and buy the Turnlock crinkle patent leather hobo also by Marc by Marc Jacob instead. I thought it's more modern and fun comparing to the Classic Q style. The chain detail just adds the right touch of style and flair. The previous tote is just a little too conservative for her. And, in keeping with the bag purchase rule, this purchase falls into fun category so what do you think, which one? They are both about the same size; the one on left measures about 16 x 16 x 5 inches and right, 19 x 15 x 3 inches. Also both of the prices are similar, left is $498 and right is $428.
I have surveyed my gal pals abut bag purchase rule, not everyone has my rules. Some gals just buy whatever they want regardless of price point. But then, they have bigger budgets. So let me ask you this, do you spend more money on classics and less on fun bags?
hello darling hehehe i know a lot of girlfriends who cateogorize their bags and ahoes too. with me I dont particularly but i do name them at times :o). yummy bags in the post by the way.
ReplyDeleteOh by the way just added you to my list of links, about time dont you think .:O)
kisses dear!
Marian.
Ehhh
ReplyDeleteIf she was intending to keep it and continue to use it for some time I would def. go with the conservative piece, however if she intends to get rid of it anyways, she should go with the trendier bag!
I like the first one! And yes, I spend more money on classics bags.

I like the second one more - always go for the fun ones! Everything is so much more expensive in silly England - not fair! x
ReplyDeleteI like the first one and yes I have a tendency categorize... and I agree Marian. SHOES! Haha!
ReplyDeleteGreat post!
XoXo
i like them both!

I like the first one more, but I usually alternate shopping for classic bags with shopping for cute or statement bags...and I try not to spend a fortune, because I don't take care of them and they deteriorate quickly.:)
ReplyDeleteHmm good question...I don't think I categorize my bag purchase.
ReplyDeleteI have the same rule for both bags and shoes - classics - splurge, fun and trendy - skimp - =). I like the second purse.
ReplyDeleteOh i do that for shoes and clothes as well.
ReplyDeleteI think fun bags are more classic :-)
ReplyDeleteI'd rather have something interesting than something bland. I'll enjoy it for longer.
These are so chic! And yes I toooootally classify my bags like that too!

Hi there-I buy a bag because I love it, regardless of what I spend on it. I really like both styles you've shown, they're both unique in their own way.
ReplyDeleteCertainly...'classifying' my bag purchases has been a good thing, much wiser I think! These days, I don't buy so much 'fun' bags...part of growing older perhaps?!
ReplyDeleteI overthink my bag purchases because I like having a few good ones that i can use again and again and that I won't get sick of.
ReplyDeletei'd have to say i would spend more on classics than a trendy bag for sure
ReplyDeletehmmm...for me it depends. I have a few classics that I know I will have forever and ever like the Jackie Gucci bag in brown and the Chanel 2.55 and the LV speedy...those I've always gotten as special occasion gifts. But then I have a few bags that are fun and a bit more trendy but I love them just the same like my Fendi baguettes. I think that they are all investments whether they are timeless or trendy and I treat them with great care...of course some of them are not for every day but I don't overthink anything that I buy and especially not bags. If I like them, I save and buy them or I name them when asked if I want anything special for my bday:) I prefer the latter, of course! :) I LOVE the idea of using this bag as a diaper bag one day though...it's so much cooler than the typical diaper bags. If I see one more Petunia Pickle-whatever-her-name-is bag in Manhattan I'm going to lose it. They're nice but come on...EVERYONE has one.
ReplyDeletePre mommy all about the fun, now's it's all about how much I can fit it in ;)
ReplyDeleteit definitely is hard for me to spend money on "fun" bags. I'd rather just use that money in classics. However, I have been wanting that Marc Jacobs bag in the purple color! I've been contemplating it.
ReplyDeleteI love, love the one on the right....I am seriously thinking about getting it now...oh no, what have you done!! lol :)
