The problem with having bag addict family is the constant temptation and lure of new and very coveted bags. Of course, SG will then feel that urge to find something new as well. After all, a gal just can't borrow every time. Recently, a gal in the family got herself this little lovely Hermes Boldie in 31 cm from Europe. To be honest, I am not a Boldie fan but the workmanship and quality are just Hermes. The leather is butter soft, surprisingly roomy and easy to use, according to the happy new owner. Personally, this satchel is a little too conservative for me at this point but I can see myself wanting one when I am older. I can see my mom use this everyday. This is the etaupe color in soft Togo which goes with everything.
On the inside, there is a patch pocket for storage. (As seen in the picture, there are scratches on the inside already because the leather is so soft.) This double handle satchel is great for everyday use and the extra strap is handy when a gal's hands are tied up. Although we have never use the lock, it is great for added security when traveling. The retail price in the US Hermes boutique is $6300 before tax but in Europe after tax refund, this Hermes Bolide costs about $5000. That is a lot of saving!!! Personally for now, SG prefers colorful Louis Vuitton Alma. I have my eyes on a purple Vernis Alma here, but I already have Alma in classic Monogram and black Epi so I do feel a little guilty buying another one.
For those gals not wanting to spend thousands on a Hermes Bolide, what about this Dooney & Burke Domed satchel for only $295. There are so many cute bright colors such as red, orange, yellow, turquoise. and purple, in additional to the basic black, grey, and shades of brown. The silhouette is very similar to Hermes Bolide but only costs 1/20 of the price. This is pretty savvy in my book! This bag measures 13" x 7.25" x 10" with a 6.5" drop handle.
