SG thinks silver is color du mode when Louis Vuitton is offering metallic silver, not that gold is out but perhaps just not the favorite anymore going into Spring 09.- (top left) Silver metallic Suhali Lockit $3180 (not crazy about the shape of the bag, too structure and conservative for my taste)
-(bottom right) Silver metallic Mahina $3160 (fun, still classic and less structure)

I will always love gold. I've been wearing it since I was young, but may be you are right about silver being the color du mode.
