Valentino Satin Trench with Floral Accent

I cannot say anything negative about the ruffle edgy on the hem of coat but the flower, I am not so sure. SG saw the flower immediately and thought the accent quite stylish until I tried on the trench. Once the coat is on me, the oversize flower falls rather awkwardly against my knee. In theory, how can a Valentino piece go wrong (besides the un-savvy price of $1690), but SG has no problem leaving this one, even if it's interesting in theory.

  1. Hi there-I think it would work better without the flower!

  3. Trench is trench I guess. having too much fun is only going to make it less versatile.

  4. The flower OR the ruffle, not both, I think I would go for the ruffle. Kathy

  5. The flower looks like an afterthought that they stuck on thinking it looked too much like a basic trench.

  6. Not sure what they were thinking w/ the flower. I'm not big on flower appliques, etc.

  7. Yes, very cute in theory, but in practice, awkward. I wonder if it would have worked better higher up, as a corsage?

  8. I need a trench coat, but this one wont be in my list. I'm not crazy about the flower either.
