After years in the shadow, vest is making a showing this season. I for one am glad this geeky style is back. I adore vests simple because they are great for layering and just so comfortable, especially long sweater vests. A gal can just wrap herself in one and curl on to read a good book on a cold day with a cup of divine hot coca.

Short vests offer a tailored look in a geeky sort of fashion. They are great with pants (both skinny and wide), dresses and skirts. My personal pick is Ella Moss for affordability and versatility. But, Marc by MJ is most funky and fun!
-left to right top row: Ella Moss $99, DVF $245, Ralph Laurent $250.
-left to right bottom row: Marc by MJ $298, Ralph Laurent leather vest $498

However, for me, I prefer the longer vest with a pair of straight leg jeans or legging and flats. A gal just wants to be comfortable in her upmost savvy nerdy style. My personal pick is the grey Theory vest with the scarf for $315 with a pair of jeans for everyday. To dress it up for dinner out, layer the vest over a cute top and skinny pants with heels.
-top row left to right: Theory $395, Milly $475
-bottom row left to right: Theory $315, 3.1 Philip Lim $525
Are you a vest gal and long or short?

ReplyDeleteI also love a good sweater vest, especially the ones that are more of a cardigan or wrap style. Comfy, cozy, & quite cute when done right.
I used to wear the shorter, menswear-ish vests, so I'll have to see how I feel about them this time around.
Great page!
