Van Cleef & Arpels Alhambra Vintage Flower: Bracelets into a Necklace

Happy Friday to all the savvy gals! I am going to end the week with Van Cleef & Arpels Alhambra necklaces. A piece I have been drooling over for a while already. Last week I ventured into the boutique again hoping I could finally talk myself into the necklace, but alas the financially responsible side of me wouldn't let go of the credit card. The joke between savvy sister and me about VCA Alhambra Flower is that if a gal wants to know the price of a particular piece, just count the number of flowers and multiply by $1000. I told the SA about it and she replied, "Oh, you gals know VCA well!"
The SA told me some of her clients would buy 2 bracelets of different styles and use them as a short necklace. I fell in adoration with the idea and the picture above is my idea of a perfect VCA necklace. I do actually prefer the shorter length DIY necklace over the traditional necklace. It's just so savvy to me, not to mention lots of saving! It's not exactly$1000 per flower but not far off. Some pieces are a little over a $1000 per flower and some, less, but overall average is about $1000.
I used 2 bracelets like the ones above to create my custom VCA necklace. Also when not wearing them as a necklace, a gal can wear them as bracelets, the original purpose anyway. Retail prices for both are about $4400 for the one on left and $2400 for the one on right if memory is correct! This savvy gal saves a few thousands using this method. This is another bracelet with different charm motifs which retails for about $3300. How will you combo these bracelets to make your perfect necklace?

  2. that is a good trick.

some things are just so ridiculously overpriced.

my family friends works as a CEO in one of the big chain stores.
he said basically everything is atleast 100% markup
so only when things are on huge sales do they make no profit.
