Recently I have been seeing celebrities with rolled-up jeans so I am assuming this is a new fashion trend. I am not really sure how I feel about it yet. On the one hand, everyone is free to define his/her style but I don't know if this particular trend is stylish. Anyway, while window shopping at Eluxury I came across a pair of comfy looking cropped jean, rolled up and all. This is a new brand by 2 celebrity stylists, Emily Current and Meritt Elliott. I like the look of this particular crop jean, slouchy and worn, just perfect for a lazy weekend afternoon shopping on Rodeo Drive or the beach. A gal can take this pair of cropped jean home for $226. Maybe I will just crop my old Seven jeans to achieve this rolled-up look. Is it savvy for you?
Yesterday, I wanted to do it. Today, I'm over it. I think it's okay for us to dip out toes into the waters of this trend by doing exactly what you propose—adapt our existing jeans to the style and save the $226.
ReplyDeleteI don't like this trend. Bleh! It's so Lil' Abner looking.
ReplyDeleteIt's not stylish but certainly comfortable.
ReplyDeleteDon't like this, especially for $226. Maybe if i were to go camping, this would be a fun thing to wear. like the person above said, good for dipping feet in water! i do like distressed jeans though, but these are a bit much. maybe just a little distressed at the knee with a darker wash.
ReplyDeletelike your blog though, very informative and fashion newsyb. i also like to incorporate celeb style into my blogs.

it is vancouver-based because i live in vancouver but the style and comments are for everyone (for the most part).
for $226, won't buy that style, just convert old pair--the style is ok with me if done right and your comfortable with it.

thanks for stopping me, always welcomed more than once :)
hate this new trend. I have this amazing pair of AG boyfriend cut jeans from high school [oh hai 6 years ago] that I can do this to, but won't because this "trend" needs to stop before it starts. I'd rather just wear baggy boyfriend looking jeans.
ReplyDeletei am liking a little baggy jean now too. skinny jeans are great but time for a change, esp in the summer. just so uncomfortable.
ReplyDeletekatie holmes does this so much apparantely. its an okay trend cuz its comfortable, but its not that attractive?
ReplyDeletei feel like this trend takes me back to my southern vineyard wine making days, yuckky, i dont like it. comfortable does not always mean fashionable!
ReplyDeleteGo on give it a whirl. I've braved the stares of the crowds on Oxford Street - it's fine!
ReplyDeleteI do like the Elliot ones despite the price
A great look I think-but needs to be done with existing jeans, rather than spending out on new ones!!
ReplyDeleteI like them. Usually I hate celebrity trends and esp Katie Holmes but this one seems to be gaining momentum. I think it wil take off. Nice blog!
ReplyDeleteGreat blog! I'm not sold on the rolled up trend yet. They look nice with straight legged or skinnies but i'm not quite sure about baggy/boyfriend jeans.
ReplyDeleteyeah, I'd say I'm having a tough time getting on board with this look {although I probably will} but it's a bit too early for the 90's comeback I'm thinkin'
ReplyDeleteI actually love this look -- very laid back but versatile!
ReplyDeletei'm not loving the rolled jean look. baggy, yes. worn-in, absolutely. but rolled and baggy and worn-in...not doing much for me there.
ReplyDeletethese jeans are the friggin best. they seriously are. and they are in style. very actually. you can try all you want to cut your old jeans, etc etc. but you will not achieve the same look as those of the current/elliot cropped boyfriend jeans. they are perfect. i own 4 pairs and i have another pair of destroyed wash on my wishlist!
