Cartier has the Love collection, Bvlgari has the B. Zero and the Quatre collection is Boucheron's answer. The Boucheron brand has being adored by royalties and celebrities alike for the past 150 years. But, after being acquired by Gucci in 2000 and subsequently by the PPR group, the brand is getting a make-over. The Quatre collection launched in 2005 is one of the evidences of the change, a modern and more "affordable" line in an effort to reach a broader client base. The collection has an old world charm yet with modern elements. The idea behind the collection originated from the Boucheron House, the building where the brand was founded. The fusion of 4 elements speak to the complexity of this collection which includes rings, cuff links and necklaces in combinations of gold in white, yellow, rose and chocolate color. Chocolate gold is an exclusive Boucheron technology which they won't even talk about after much probing from moi. Retail prices for rings range from $2400 to $6700 depending on with or without diamonds. I must say I am really interested in the larger (about 8 mm wide)of the two rings without diamonds, which cost $3300. Is it a savvy jewel piece for a modern savvy gal?
