Savvy Food Finds in Napa
Before this past weekend, I thought Napa was all about wine tasting and vineyards. I am completely wrong on that account. There are so many great restaurants in Napa, a gal finds herself over indulging almost every meal of every day.
I found Buchon restaurant and Buchon Bakery in Napa. I am just going to report everything in the bakery is drool worthy and baked fresh in the morning. This pistachio brioche is one of the best I have had in a long time, besides the ones at Jean Philippe Patisserie in Las Vegas.
These macarons at Buchon in Napa are like the ones I had by Laudree in Paris. It's perfectly crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside. Buchon chocolate bite is also a must try, just make sure you have black coffee to wash it down. It may look little, about one inch tall and 3/4 inch round, but there is definitely a chocolate kick.
Another savvy food find is Auberage du Soleil. The ambiance of the restaurant is very much romantic date worthy. This is the first course of the 4 course prix fixe meal at Auberage du Soleil in Napa/St Helena. Dinner is about $150 per person including tip and a cocktail but the food is worth every penny.
This was the main course I ordered, which was prime beef with white corn and vegetables. Prime beef was cooked to perfection, which I defined as perfect medium. I managed to find room in my stomach to store every last morsel.
This is view while eating dinner at Auberage, which I think has the best view in Napa. This is definitely one of my top spots for a romantic meal. What is your favorite romantic eating spot?
