Louis Vuitton handbag makeover, or not…

I became pretty excited when I found out I could sent old Louis Vuitton handbags back to have them reconditioned, at a charge of course. So after staring at my Vuitton Petite Noe with annoyance for a while now because of the dirty leather bottom, I went to a boutique with hope. I was informed that it’s best to replace all the leather parts to make the bag more uniform, which makes perfect sense. Anyway, after the SA looked up how much it’s going to cost, my hope shattered into little pieces. The cost of leather replacement is $476, which was the old price. SA told me cost should be more with the new price increase. A brand new one retails for $790 and replacing all leather parts is probably around $500 to $550, which she can’t correctly quote me but assures me the bag will look brand new once it is recondition by Vuitton. I might as well buy a new bag, to think I only paid around $375 for the bag back in the days. A LV Neverfull is only a little over $600. I just don't know if it is worth the time and money. Would you refurbish your LV handbags or just buy a new one?

  1. Depends I guess. If it was a present by someone, if the bag was somehow very dear to me or it was a discontinued model I couldn't live without, I'd get it refurbished. If it's some old thing I've been sick of for a while, definately get a new one.

  2. Thank for your comment. I agree with you. I think a new bag is just so much more attractive. What happened to all the pic??

  4. My advice is not to buy new one but to buy new collection. I have here at my home the same model as that one. You might ask me if I’m still using it the answer is no.

  5. In the end, I didn't do anything because it was not worth the money for me. I wanted a different style anyway. :)
