J Crew Rain Flats??

I was at J Crew the other day trying to find a hot pink tulle skirt for darling niece. I did not find the skirt but saw some colorful rubber flats instead. They are supposed to be perfect for foul weather. So instead of rain boots, we are now presented with rain flats ($45). I think the flats are great in theory but would I really wear this in a raining day. I tried the rubber flats on, they are quite comfortable and do offer 3 small holes for ventilation on the side. Wouldn’t water get inside? I can just imagine my feet getting wet inside the flat in the rain and feeling the wetness with my skin rubbing against the wet rubber inside, lovely. I just don’t know, or is it just me?
